Barca Transfers and Rumors

Dost is a good option if you want a striker that's good in the air... Free transfer too.

I wouldn't sign him because aimless crosses into the box is not our style but there are some, like yourself, who want that. I'd much rather sign a forward who's more versatile.

Dost would be a backup option. A plan B. If he's good enough for that, and he might be, wouldn't mind him here.

It's not aimless if there's someone able to win the ball. What do you mean it's not our style? Crosses first, no, but we used to cross. It's not a sin.

More versatile forward as the plan B? Well, sure thing. If he can offer something our starters can't. Speaking about Suarez replacement, don't know about that. Hoped Griezmann would come.

I refer to aerial crosses as aimless because they’re at best a 50/50 ball.

We have Dembele and Coutinho now. They are different than Suarez but they are two very attacking players. If we want a "Suarez replacement" on top of that, it puts the whole balance of the team in jeopardy.

he is a solid player but overrated. Plus would be a bad sign for La Masia to bring him back. He is most likely not coming.
Thiago overrated? Ok, that’s your opinion but he shouldn’t have been allowed to leave in the first place. He is a fantastic player for a profile which is hard to find.

I was thinking of lineups earlier and man does Suarez throw a big fucking spanner in the works.. I'd love to go with a front 3 of
Dembele-Messi-Coutinho with Thiago-Busi-Arthur behind but yeah..

Messi slow
Coutinho slow
Thiago slow
Arthur slow
Busi slow

Physically weaker:
Messi, Coutinho, Dembele
Thiago, Coutinho, Arthur

So, basically, this would be insanely one dimensional short, technical shortpassing team with zero counters, long balls, crosses or corners.
We would be forced to play slow against parked buses all the time and pass the ball around the box till death, with one new thing: zero players in the box (Suarez) which would make things even harder than now.

Our only options would be:
Score thought the middle.
Or rely on Messi's magic and Coutinho's longshots.

Prediction: 2nd or 3rd place in La liga
CL: knocked out in quarters by absolutely anyone.

Just one thing to thing about, what RM's team which won 4 Cls in 5 years had compared to a team which you posted is:
1. 2-3 attackers who can score with feet and head
2. some pace in attack
3. midfielders who are faster
4. attackers/midfielders with more muscles
5. at least one thug in midfield
6. overally a team who can play: possession, counters, crosses and corners.
Unlike your team who can play only: pass the ball around the box against a parked bus till death.
Our plan B would be as always: play a plan A again over and over :/

So, guys, if you want to get rid of Suaraz, maybe it's time for Werner or for ideas of some new, younger stronger versatile Cf.
NOT similar to Griezzclown or Dybala, please.

Do whatever you want with a team, but add some variations, a different options.
Don't clone a same midfielder or a same attacker 3 times and play with 11 clones on a field.

We can do better (more versatile) than that.

Messi is neither slow nor physically weak and coutinho isn't slow

You’re preaching to the choir man. The 4-4-2 physically strong Barcelona that was guaranteed to win the Champions League last season played shit on a stick football but let’s get some more of those players.

BBZ directly talks about muscles and thugs as "plan B". What are they gonna do? Flex on the pitch? Rugby tackle a GK into his own net with the ball?

I don't think he understands what a plan B is, or how RM have become the best team....

Sadly BBZ is gonna get what he wants from this board. Rabiot for some more mediocre height/muscle, just a glorified Gomes. And then di Maria for the pace/crossing. Let's see how much you like that plan B going into this next season. I'm certain it's not gonna be pretty.

Villa and Pedro wasn't very quick either. Neither was a 32 year old Henry.
Iniesta, Busquets and Xavi also slow.

Still managed to be quite successful.

Modric is not slow(very agile) and they have Bale and Ronaldo who are one of the fastest.
It is not a matter of speed only
BTW Modric is slow, and Kroos is very very slow. But they have the depth Casameiro is providing to cover this, which we don’t have
Best midfielders were not fast: Xavi, Iniesta, Pirlo..
