Barca Transfers and Rumors

It is not about scouting, it is about giving chances. I could name at this very moment 25+ talents who you can get for less than 30m and have potential to be sold for 75m.

After Coutinho finally joins the team next summer, not much more is needed, even if Iniesta moves on. Maybe a young CB, like Marlon. Outside of the players who play regularly, there should be turnover every year. To deserve a Barca roster spot, you need to be pretty capable, but players from about 18 to 24 cannot play enough, so they have to be turned over. The deep bench makes very little difference.

I don't know why everyone is still so hot for Coutinho. It would be great if we get him yes, but we need to explore other options that will pop up during this season, which could be easier to realize (Liverpool will still be tough to deal with in the next window), cheaper (we will need another LW/ST player to replace Suarez in a few seasons) and possibly younger (the likes of Lemar, Goretzka and Soler).

I'm just afraid that our board is bad at exploring multiple options at once (as is Liverpool's for that matter, as we have seen with Van Dijk).

Top priority : Iniesta replacement
Second Priority : Substitute Rightback

What should be done IMHO:

RB issue:
We should promote Palencia ASAP as a substitute RB, especially if our board wants to use Semedo sparingly, because of the contract clauses.

MF issue:
We should buy one, Alena needs to be promoted and Arda, Gomes, Rakitić and Rafinha sold in the summer.

Palencia needs to show this season he is anywhere near ready.

Roberto is a good back up at RB and Vidal is better than Palencia as well with his faults.

Long way from being able to say Palencia is ready to step up.

If you believe that a board won't play Semedo in order so that we would pay lower addons, then they will do the same with Dembele, and Dembele will get benched all the time, since we will pay up to 30 Millions for his 100 matches for Barca and CL matches.

So, since Dembele's addons are way higher than Semedo's, it would make sense to bench Dembele and save a lot of money, right?
Benching Dembele should be our priority in order to "save" a lot of money, right?

Or, as you see, this theory (about Semedo) doesn't make too much sense.

That is based simply on the fact, that I can't come up with a better reason for Semedo's exclusion every other game, while he is one of our top 4 performers when he plays. It could be fatigue.

Semedo being rotated has nothing to do with any appearance bonuses.

Why bother taking him on v Real etc if that is an instruction coming from top.

My guess would be Valverde like Fergie used to sets his starting line ups weeks in advance and planned a slow introduction for Semedo in the home games while he is learning.

Despite him playing well Valverde is sticking to it.

Our top priority should be to offload players who can't do any good. Arda, Rafinha, Paco and Rakitić, I'd go with loaning Gomes because some might say he's improving, and I'm trying to see signs of it. Hope he can develop in another team, if not, he should be sold. Don't know why all of us trust in his abilities this much, seems delusional, but still we should try to get as much from him as possible. Digne is a decent backup until Cucurella is ready and what we must try to do is get a young, talented fullback. My favorite would be De Ligt from Ajax which would mean we can sell Vermaelen who is, truth be told, a solid CB if fit. Ive heard clubs from China won't be able to spend as much due to country's sport strategy and that's our only chance to make money on Arda and prolly Suarez. Our second priority should be buying young midfielders like Maxime Lopez who is good on the ball and Goretzka. Alena will play higher on the pitch and it'd be shame to restrain those traits of his. Players Id like to see in our midfield next year: Busquets, Iniesta, Roberto, Denis, Maxime Lopez, Leon Goretzka and Samper and defence: Pique, Umtiti, De Ligt, Marlon, Mascherano, Semedo, Alba, Palencia, Digne. That'd be a strong team with oportunities to imrpove and build on. This could mean a transition. Wages would be reduced and some money saved so we'd be able to make a big-name signing, I'd prefer Griezmann. So: MAtS/Cillessen/Ortola: Semedo/Palencia, Pique/De Ligt/ Marlon, Umtiti/Masche, Alba/Digne; Busquets/Samper, Iniesta/Denis/Roberto, Goretzka/Lopez; Griezmann/Deulo, Messi/Alena, Dembele.

In the formation Barca play Soler would fit like a glove.

Playing as an old fashioned wide player from the right that drives at teams and gets ball in box for Valencia this season.

Massive step up from likes of Deulofeu and Vidal and could allow Dembele to go to left.

If nothing else he would be great for depth in a position that is terrible at moment.

Having Suarez and Denis on one side and Dembele and Aleix on other is far from terrible. We got unlucky with Dembele injury but still have options. Even Bob and could have had Rafinha if not injured also.
