When people say we need to replace Xavi, most of them mean a player with a similar playing style not the same level and quality. Everyone knows that a Xavi-Iniesta quality & chemistry duo is impossible to get at the moment.
And I don't understand why everyone is acting like Iniesta is not world class anymore. It's not his skills that are the problem. Barcelona had more problems when he could not play. Iniesta is the only creative midfielder in the squad, without him they lack inspiration in the midfield. That's why most of the time it was more about getting the ball as quickly as possible to MSN. Iniesta just had alot of injuries which made him play alot less. He's getting physical problems, his body has difficulties to recover... He may not have the same stamina etc, but with a Rakitic and Busquets in form next to him there would no problems.
In primera division, Barcelona had 6 draws, 3 with Iniesta not playing, one when Iniesta came after 60' (RM). All 4 losses when Iniesta was not in starting XL.
