of course it has to do .. are we on a limitless budget or what .. Right back was a priority an emergency .. the midfield not

No, it's not.

Robert said at the start of the transfer window that he intends to use more than budgeted for, if there's an interesting opportunity on offer in the market.

And the RB was never a priority for Robert or Lucho. In fact, it was not even an option as they seem to have put their trust in Roberto and Vidal.

But if they change their mind during the next couple of weeks then I bet you that they won't hesitate to spend money if they have to.

It might be a priority for you, but everything suggests it never was for the management or that the Andre Gomes signing has any effect on a possible RB signing.

Spending 50 million on Bellerin would be a high risk.

While it's true if we were to spend that kind of money on Bellerin he would be our starting RB, but at the same time theirs a high risk he could end up not really living up to the expectations the club and fans have placed on him.

The last time we spent money getting back a former La Masia player from Arsenal was Cesc. Everyone was hyped up beyond belief on getting him back and a lot of cules thought he could be Xavi's successor. but as you can see he failed to make a lasting Impact here for us and didn't meet the expectations a lot of us thought he would.

I want Robert to spend the next 10 months scouting for Young RB's before making a Decision on pulling the trigger on trying to Get Bellerin back.

well i have my opinion and the management have theirs .. time will tell if vidal and Roberto are enough .. i see a line stacked with possibilities many of whom will probably worm the bench for the large part of the season .. in contrast , i see a position out of specialists .. i never liked gambling so .. let's see

Obviously, but your point about the Gomes signing having a negative impact on a RB signing is not true at all. That's my point.

xXKonan / this is barca not arsenal lol there is no time for scouting .. one season is too much .. we have the best attack ever and 2 of them are knocking the thirties .. my idea was like , fill the holes and plan later not the other way around ..

That was a completely different issue. The club had to get their books right and at that time in Winter they couldn't afford to spend more than 4-5m or something without triggering a clause enforcing the entire board to resign. Had to do with the forecast debt and the EBITDA ratio they set.

This is a good read;

When I mean scouting, I mean actually having a Plan B and C and so on.

It's better to have a nice list of alternatives, than putting all the eggs in the basket for one player in particular. in this case Theirs a good chance Bellerin might not want to come back at this moment in time and with a good scouting reports you could find other good alternatives and instead of shitting the bed Zubi style when missing on your number 1 target and not having much of a backup plan.

This summer we had the same problems with the CB position. we were constantly linked to guys like Stones,Laporte,Marquinhos but two were way out of the price we were willing to pay and the other plays for a club that has no reason to sell to any of us.

We got Umtiti and we were also looking for a even younger CB who we could buy and loan out for a couple of seasons and see if they have the potential to make it here. We were linked to guys like Lemos,Davinson Sanchez and Yerry Mina, we got a first option deal on Mina, but Sanchez turned us down for Ajax and we lost interest in getting Lemos, so we went back to our other alternatives and brought in Marlon, on loan who could possibly fill that quota we were looking for.

Nothing wrong with building a nice list and forming a Plan B and C and so on.

no excuse whatsoever .. we spent 50 millions on gomes .. i would gladly have a Bellerin than a gomes for next season

You're talking like Bellerin is the next Dani. He's a pace whore without any shining qualities in either defensive or offensive aspect of the game. Also he makes a ton of defensive mistakes and many times his positioning is questionable. Roberto is better defensively and Vidal is miles better offensively. Only thing Bellerin is good at is recovering after he's been destroyed due to his pace.

Still an issue. In today's squad, only Bob as rb. Vidal to the stands. I hope Robert is working on a solution for the january transfer window.

Might as well try Arda there... If everything else fails, he'll atleast not throw in the shoes but throw them at the winger.

Switch to 3 man defense and make rakitic as proper wide midfielder. Not a comfortable formation but it would be not be disastrous at least. Roberto playing and succeeding at RB is a must now. Replacing Dani is not easy.
