It was a great back and forth affair with tons of chances, but in terms of actual build up play and technicality it was awful.
Build up play was top class until the red card, especially from Arsenal. They exploited the gaps between Chelsea's defense and midfield very well. Alexis and Ozil had a field day with all that space. After the red card it became back and forth football, I agree. Don't think it was such an awful game from a technical point of view as you say. The teams combined well and tried to play fast paced football. Certainly not your usual EPL hoofball.

Premier League teams buying their way back to the top? It will be interesting to see how they will do next couple years.

I guess we have been big team for some time and we used to buy the best players, but now Premier League is becoming real threat again for Barcelona and Madrid. They just have too much money.

ManC having 200-300 mil pounds to spend, Chelsea 200 mil. Damn. Insane amounts. It will make even our targets way more expensive. In the future finding bargain players will be even harder.

that is literally crazy

It's a good thing that we can't sell our own TV deal like you guys. However, at this stage having money simply means nothing because everyone else has it. One advantage the clubs like Juve and Bayern have is that they can scoop up the best talents in their own league more easily whereas United have to pay 100 million to get dross like Lukaku.

that is true for players in the EPL, but not for those in wider Europe. teams around the continent vying for emerging talents in portugal (ie porto which always picks up great prospects) and france (ie monaco this year) will have a very tough time competing with english club when the latter have that sort of money
