Yerry Mina

Valverde has shown he doesn't care for developing youth, yes, but that mainly applies to B team players. Mina isn't a B team player. If he's not getting minutes it's probably because Valverde sees him play every day, and knows he's not good enough.

Mina is a young cb who has just arrived from Brazil. If he doesn't play he won't develop. He's ahead of Davison Sanchez in the pecking order for Columbia. So he must be quite good. Valverde is plain scared.

Yes, EV sees Paulinho and Gomes every day, both of them must be spectacular in training to play them often in the season's biggest games.

So Yerry isn't even on the bench for today's game ..

If he ain't injured I've no idea what this bladdy manager is thinking ..

I'll be glad to see the back of him .

But why should valverde put him in the squad when there are more expirienced players available? Mina just came from Brazil, and if valverde thinks he is still not ready for play, why would we criticize him?

best option for Mina would be loan next season

If we cannot give minutes to Mina and rest our starters in one of the easiest games of the season, when exactly is he gonna play then? ro16 of Copa next season?

So, we basically signed Mina, and blocked ourselves from getting Arthur in the summer, who we really need, to not use Mina because there are more experienced players available? Why would you sign Mina if he's not a great CB prospect? And if he's a great CB prospect, just play him, especially at home.

When there are though CL matches ahead and you fight for 3 trophies, you want your third CB option vermaelen be ready for task, not some young talent from brasil who is still not vermaelen level, he was out 2 weeks, before that he was playing great, so you probably want him in similar form if pique or umtiti get injuried and you get that giving him minutes in matches like this

Perhaps the board should FORCE Valverde to use their signing. I'm sure that would go over well.

Arthur is blocked from coming by Gremio, not our lack of non-EU spots. If he could come this summer, Mina would be loaned out and never thought of again the day the window opened up.

1-Grêmio are the one blocking us from signing Arthur earlier not Mina
2-We signed Mina because of Mascherano leaving, coach doesn't know or trust him much for now. This could change with time but EV is conservative coach and there is nothing wrong in that
We have to remember that since Edgar Davids we barely ever used any of our january signings during there 1st season.

When you have both Coutinho and Dembele upfront you need solid proven CBs to maintain the balance. Maybe that's the logic behind Yerry Mina's exclusion.
