Yerry Mina

At least he has to play vs Leganes next weekend. If Valverde hasn't lost all his marbles. Perfect game to play Vermaelen and Mina. At home vs one of teams with the poorest attacks that has no worries about potential relegation and has no objective of any kind. Probably the easiest game left.

So why sign him then , if he was doing his job correctly he would have watched the guy many times and must have seen how bad he is. The manager is a clown and if he never had Messi in his side he would be out of a job immediately.

It's not Valverde's job to scout talent. He plays the members of his squad based on who he wants to play. If he doesn't think Mina is a good fit, Mina is not a good fit.

Oh boy Mina plays 1 game and is immediately written off as not good enough to defend Valverde. Some of the "experts" on this forum make me laugh.

So he never picked him or looked at him ? At any other club managers live and die because of the players they sign.

Valverde the so called developer of youth has a terrible record here.

Mina deserves a chance. Funny how Paco, Gomes, Paulinho get chances but Semedo and Mina are frozen out.

This has been repeated here more often. This is a misguided opinion about Alcacer. He has been very good in the last few matches he played.

Valverde can never claim himself as youth developer considering how little Alena has played and Samper wasn't even given chance.

Mina is our 4th CB. How often do they play when the first three aren't injured or banned? How often did Vallejo play for Madrid this season? The only times he played were when 2 out of Ramos, Varane and Nacho were not in the squad or when Nacho had to play RB while Ramos or Varane were out.

Not worried at all. He will be a starter for Colombia at the WC. If he isn't good enough for Barcelona the club will probably gain money with a transfer.

Valverde had to clean up a mess when he joined Barcelona so I wouldn't judge him after the first season. Alena will be part of the first team next season and Samper is bang average, nowhere near Barcelona level.

I don't expect Valverde to be a youth developer though. He had to be at Bilbao but Barcelona is a different club. La Masia was once very important, but it doesn't look like it is as important to the new management. I don't have enough insight to rate how hard the transfer ban with all his consequences has hit the development of young talents though.

Samper is not good enough is the reason.

Even Pep in his first season barely played any youngsters in cup and CL games qualified.

In fact EV has played more young players in cup etc.

Really only Alena could have been given more chance but he has developed well in B team and grown there. Lets see what he does going forward when more established and has 2/3 B team players knocking on the door.

He's a racist?

Semedo is not frozen out, though. Could've played more.

Semedo frozen out?

He has played not far off number off minutes of Paco and Gomes combined.

We're unlikely to see Mina at the same time as any B team players. I'd much rather see Alena get a start than Mina.
