Apparently Favre was the one that inquired about him and even spent time trying to convince him of his project.

I think this move is a good idea for Marlon. He will probably get the game time and development under Favre. in a League that's considered good for developing players. sure he will have to play against Ney eventually but it will be a good learning experience and who knows if he impresses he will be back.

Instead of preparing him we are sending him away. That is sad.

To be honest it is a smart move. It leaves us light until January market when Mina comes in, but the club probably think they can manage with Umtiti, Pique,Masch, Busquets until then.

Consistant Ligue1 football will really develop Marlon and is better than 4th option at Barcelona where it is clear Valverde is not convinced he is ready to be counted for yet.

Obviously the board are happy with how Umtiti arrived from Lyon and want to give Marlon the opportunity to develop in France, subsequent to Nice's interest.

Clubwise Barcelona can maintain a good relation with Nice opening the door to Sarr and potentially Seri if he has a second great season.

Good or bad relation with Nice doesn't matter much in comparison of having 1st team football under one of european best upcoming coach like Favre

It's Official now. Marlon to Nice on loan for two seasons with an option to bring him back after one season.

Is he expected to get any serious minutes at Nice? Wouldn't make sense if he is sitting on the bench most of the time.

I think Favre is not happy with the defensive options he has at CB other than Dante.

Sarr is being used as a LB more often due to Dalbert going to Inter but he has been a disaster there and his form at CB dipped as well. so there's a good chance he can get some minutes while he's over there.

Good luck. Going to play europa league so it will be also good. Favre is a good coach. Nice move one of the good ones from the board.
