Full name: Davinson Sánchez Mina

Date of birth: 12 June 1996 (age 19)

Place of birth: Caloto, Colombia

Height: 1.88 m (6 ft 2 in)

Playing position: Centre Back/Defensive Midfielder

According to Mundo Deportivo and SPORT, we have been following Davidson and intend on signing him for the B Team. But the deal is currently being held up due to the fact Davidson himself doesn't want for the B team. But I thought I would make a thread on him.

His strengths according to SPORT.

Sanchez, who possesses great pace, has also played well in defensive midfield on occasions. Despite his youth, he's already won four league titles, two cups, a Super Cup and a Sudamericana. He recently scored his first goal as a professional, too.

If he really is good than I wouldn't mind him with main team. He might kot play a lot but he'd gel with the team a lot more and would have MSN to practice against and Pique and Mascherano to learn from. Sign him up! Or Lemos! Or Mere! Or all three...

Difference is that most people who know him seem to rate him very highly. Colombians, Argentines, Brazilians. See a lot of people rating this guy among the very best CB prospects from there, if not the best.

Definitely worth the punt. Would cost less than Lemos.

People can rate anyone. Doesn't mean they are right
Look at how Douglas was rated and how he worked for us

He supposedly cost between 3.5-4.5 Million Euros if we were to buy him.

Would be worth a punt and loan him to a League team for a season or two.

In Douglas case did anyone truly rate him? he wasn't considered great by the majority of people that watched him in Brazil and everyone and their mom knew he really wasn't good enough for Barca.

Brazilians were laughing at us buying Douglas. Said he can cope with the Brazilian league and is only playing 'cuz everyone else sucked.

We've already signed him apparently.

Who are rating him so highly?

ِ1-We haven't signed him,but we have a deal with his club but the player himself refused our plan to send him to Barca B .wants to play in the primera
2-Everyone who watched him,he is 19 years old starting CB in the best club in Colombia who reached semi-finals in Copa Libertadores.not a bad CV for his age.

1-No body rated Douglas
2-Why should anyone care about highlights?

But who are rating him? Are they trustworthy? Do Atletico Nacional play a defensive game making it easy for defenders to look OK?

No body here works as scout Jombi.we are all speculating here and read what Colombians and south Americans who watched him say.
From the reports he is a physical presence as he has height, speed ,athleticism needed for the position.comfortable with the ball and played as DM when needed.
For "what we know" it seems as a good deal.low risk high reward only tbf.not expensive as the likes of Henrique,Kierson while actually has big potential.

Do you have some links to these statements from Colombians? Are you talking about well reputed reporters of Colombian football with a good track record when it comes to evaluating players? I just dont see any reason to be positive or negative about it with stuff like "everyone who has seen him think he is great". Not even everyone thinks Messi is great, so thats a big red flag right there.
