Kévin Gameiro: It’s more probable that I would have stayed in Sevilla than go to Barça,. I knew that if I went there I’d be fourth-choice striker. I think my playing time would have been reduced. Atlético was, more than anything, a sporting option. My agents informed me of offers at a more attractive financial level, but I wanted to stay in Spain. My finally and I like it here and La Liga is one of the best competitions.

Ambition is everything.

29 year old Gameiro unsure whether he'd accept a such role, yet we have people who believe a 24 year old goalkeeper should do it happily.

Actually, I don't want any player who doesn't firmly believe he can compete for a starting spot, so good riddance... I know he has to be realistic, but come on, if he already gave up the fight then it's better that he went somewhere else...

I don't think that's entirely true, as Bebeto scored an even faster one for Deportivo back in 1995.

I read a stat from OptaJose from yesterday that David Villa was the previous record holder before Gameiro took over the role from him.

Turns out they deleted that tweet now and you're indeed right, Bebeto scored a hattrick in exactly 4 minutes against Albacete back in 1995.

What's interesting for me are minutes that those three hat-tricks were scored.

Gameiro: 80', 81', 85'
Bebeto vs Albacete (1995): 82', 84', 86'
Villa vs Athletic Bilbao (2006): 82', 84', 87'


And then there was also a hat-trick from Luis Perez (Real Sociedad) vs Logrones in 1995.
