    Default Arsenal

The lack of experience and depth on the side has really hurt them the past two years. Is Wenger past it or are they closer than ever to fulfilling his vision?

Mediocre team. If they don't win anything next year then maybe changes need to be made.

God doesn't pick football teams but if he did.... they'd probably look like this

I think it`s the lack of experience. It was evident in CL clash vs. ManUtd with that Gibbs on LB. Besides.. ManUtd and Chelsea look stronger than ever and that certainly doesn`t help. Having said that, Arsenal really had some bad luck with injuries over last few years.

Wenger isnt past it. I dont believe managers lose it until they hit 70+. Either you have it or you dont. You cant put a dud in charge of top quality players and they'll still win trophies. And you especially cant go unbeaten for a season in the epl if you're a dud. Wenger's problem is he inherited a squad that was full of quality players such keown, adams, parlor etc..and built that squad by adding the likes of henry, vieira, pires, ljunberg etc. However he has developed a fetish for youth and every year there seems to be a new crop of young players. Where is traore now? What about gilbert? Im sure there are a ton of others you can name which featured for a season or so and then disappeared.

Wenger is treating arsenal like a south american conveyor belt rather than a european powerhouse. You have a team of experienced players (players that have won trophies) and some youngsters that learn off the veterans.

If wenger sures up the squad with some veterans that have actually won trophies then you'd stand a chance. You got to the semi final of the CL but you had to beat roma on penalties, and villarreal who arent having that good of a season compared to last season. You finally met a strong opposition and got battered. You didnt score a single goal over both legs, you made mistakes, and you conceded 4.

They always get massive in FM after 4-5 years, when all the raw talent are grown into world-class players ..

The current side has has too many youngsters and not enough of a backbone. Using youngsters is great (even if they are mostly poached from other clubs...) but they need to add more proven, experienced players to the mix.

If they were a Spanish club, Wenger would've had the boot by now.

Biggest mistake they made was letting Flamini go to Milan he was a decent player and held the midfield for Fabregas to get forward.

Arshavin is a top draw player but for me Arsenal need to get rid of the greedy player Van Persie he is a me me me player all about me .

He takes shots when he should pass the ball and can often vanish in big games.

I agree. They need a strong defensive midfielder to partner with Fabregas. Back with the Invincibles they had Viera. Last year they had Flamini. This year it's been the odd combo of Denilson/Diaby/Song.

Really do need a clinical striker as well. Either Adebayor or Van Persie could go, and probably should go.

until Arsenals kids mature and are able to handle the big games and pressure that comes with big games,i don't think they will win anything..but to say wenger is past it is really wrong, but i do wonder how much longer he will get away with winning nothing?....utd and chelsea will challenge for honours again next season...and i also think liverpool will be a force, even though i really can't stand them ...they were so close this time round...

    :$.Van Persie pen ?

i agree with most of what you said maz but my problem is ,

he's always been feted for his buying cheap and selling on for big profits as WELL as his finding youngsters in the 1st place (from such small teams as AC,Barca and Juve too,how DOES he do it )

now, they usually cite anelka, bought cheap and sold for a 20m profit as well as some others but as i'm bound to,i point out to my arsenal supporting friend that SAF at united could've easily had as many examples of homegrown players being sold for massive profits if (a) we'd needed to sell them and (b) they'd wanted to leave.
neither of which happened until they were a bit older.

and also,as he's been there over 10 years now,i tell them that in 96,when SAF had been there 10 years,he blooded a group of players who went on to win 110 trophies and 200 caps combined, whilst at united, and then ask her, that if wenger's so good, where are his "class of 96" and if he's so good at finding them (which he is,but not as good as his hype makes out) then where are they?

i think arsenal/arsene needs to decide between parsimony and going for it a little bit more on the transfer front cos for the last 4 years all they've done is tread footballing water.

IMO all Wenger has done was inherit a world-beating squad then work tirelessly over the last 4 years to make it as mediocre as possible and win fuckall of note. Honestly, blind faith from Arsenal fans bemuses me. His experiment has failed, badly.

Uh if I am mathetically correct 18-18 does not mean you have surpassed us as the most successful domestic club ever. Or am I wrong?

Arsenal on their best day still couldn't beat us, when on the other hand they did beat you in the league

Never the less they are crap I expect you to win 3 or 4 nil.
