On this day, 22nd of March, 1902, Barca won their first trophy - Copa Macaya.

Copa Macaya was part of Catalan football Championship formed in 1901 (almost 3 decades before La Liga was formed).

Copa Macaya was abolished in 1940 by Francoist Spain.

Here's the team:

Barca founder Hans Kamper (Joan Gamper) was there too. Seated, 3rd from the right.

Most of the times you don't think of him and those guys as men like you and me. Merely a history book fact.
Looking at their picture I feel they were exactly like us.

Beautiful trophy. Always nice to get information on Barca's history.
