Reached Wc finals with 433, being one of the best cms.
Even though, he didn't have to play against parked buses in tight spaces.
And he was allowed to hoof long balls, start counters and similar.

At Barca, our players are supposed to slow down with passes until the opponent parks two buses around the box.
Then our possession game in tight spaces may start...

In Croatia he has 9 fighters playing alongside him and he is among weakest ones. In Barca he is often alone in this task and overwhelmed.

This is my point we survived last year, by playing more organized but not aesthetically pleasing football. We need to continue to evolve especially as the CL will be one of the main priorities this year. To win in Europe i think we need more dynamic players who are also technically good in the midfield.

first time we will know anything about the tactics is during the joan gamper match when the entire first team is back.

On one hand a return to four three three might see Dembele benched in favor of Messi.

On the other, he is clearly not trusted enough defensively in a four four two.

Worrying for Dembele.

Dembele can play LW in a 4-3-3. he can play in a 4-4-2 against teams especially weaker ones if Roberto is the RB.

Dembele cant play LW, Coutinho does. And if he isn t there, he will be LCM and no way Valverde plays Coutinho in midfield with Dembele on his wing, that is way too suspect defensively.

So yes, he can play as RW in four four two with Roberto as RB, against small teams. That is far from enough, we might as well sell now rather than wait for him to drop in value more.
