Nice the French Deulofeu looks to be worth every penny. If we went for Mbappe we could have been playing this next season.

buying both Dembele AND Coutinho was clearly a mistake by the board

Neymar left and we needed a worldclass/near worldclass player, Coutinho is who we should of bought. Liverpool didn't want to sell but im sure at the right price we'd of got him that summer. instead, we have a raw 21 year old and a manager who knows fuck all about developing players, actually.. tbh he knows fuck all about anything and he obviously doesn't learn from mistakes.

Mbappe at Barca would be the same. I love these formations where people are leaving out Suarez :lol: hes the actual problem here, not Dembele. why can't we play Dembele-Messi-Malcom? Suarez. He plays like shit and is shoehorned into every lineup because he has clout, Messis bff and our manager is a pussy, hes going nowhere so Mbappe would probably be playing at LM in a 442 shitshow special.

same goes for De Ligt, you honestly think under EV he'd bench Pique?

why are you talking about Barca? we were talking about the French NT and Dembele's role in it. France weren't that great vs Australia in the WC when they had griezmann, mbappe and dembele as the front 3. they look more balanced with Giroud holding up the play and Matuidi protecting the left wing when sitting back with 2 lines of 4

That's how Barca would probably look like with Dembele-Messi-Malcom, or Coutinho-Messi-Dembele, but people are skipping that part and are constantly asking: why is Suarez playing?

All big NT teams and CL winning teams had one player like Mandzukic, Giroud, Kane, Lukaku, Suarez.
And 2 wingers.

We don't have a winger, we have Messi.
That is a problem to some extent.
And our other winger is currently Coutinho.

People here would kick out Suarez from a lineup and play with 3 wingers more or less, or Messi and 2 wingers, lol.
Where is the balance there?
Also, if Coutinho is a midfielder: where is the balance in midfield again?

Dembele CAN play.
= if Coutinho is on the bench.

Malcom CAN play.
= if Dembele and Coutinho are on the bench.

On the other hand, I am quite sure that some guys here are dreaming about Malcom-Messi-Dembele, Coutinho-Arthur-Busi lineup.

Out of Dembele-Coutinho-Malcom, in upcoming matches, usually only 1 of them will be on a field.
NOT because EV and Deschamps are stupid, but because of tactical reasons.

Well no shit Suarez is playing. There's a thing called chemistry and without it things wont work out. For example is Dembele-Messi-Malcom didn't work for one reason or another, we would be way worse than without Suarez-

Why can't we play Dembele-Messi-Malcom? because Messi doesn't have the legs to play false 9 anymore nor do we have a striker who can play winger, and he can't play a true 9 since he isn't good playing with his back to the goal. He is a second striker and he is our best player. And second striker needs a 1st striker. It isn't about Messi being friend with Suarez at all, Messi has never forced a player on the team, but Messi clearly plays better with Suarez in front of him -there is a reason Suarez made most assist to Messi- just like Cr7 for example needed Benzema.
And this attack line, in addition to Coutinho is just 4 creators who sucks at defending with no pure striker would make us more sterile most likely.
Everyone is shitting on Suarez on this board, but the alternative aren't tactically sound either tbf. The board and EV themselves wanted to replace Suarez with Griezmann but he changed his mind.
Mpabbe, unlike Dembele and Malcom is a striker, who is capable to play a winger like Henry and Villa, which would have been perfect in every set up and system we tried, but this is a hypothetical anyway, there is like zero chance he will wear Barca jersey in his career
