honestly only care about the trophies. want to see us settling down a bit with rotations and finding a new peak in about a month.

We have to beat the record anyway, Sevilla must be beaten and Rayo shouldn't be much of a treat !

If Barcelona win trophies it will mean a lot, just like any streak, otherwise it is just a number. Capellos 58 games was Serie A only, he lost to both Juventus and Roma in the Italian cup in between.

When was this Capello record? And if it only included league games but no European games, then in no way does it compare to ours.

58 league games in a row is clearly more impressive than being unbeaten in 7 champions league games, lol.

15 or 16 victories in a row that we achieved in 2011 is arguably better too, and so is winning the CL unbeaten which we have a shot at this season.

The fact that Capello's record only includes league games, means that during the same period AC Milan suffered European defeats. Our current record includes league games, cup games, CL games and CWC games. I think ours is more impressive.

Edit: AC Milan did not play any European games in 91/92 (when the bulk of their record was performed) because they refused to rejoin play after a 15-minute disruption in a QF they were losing to Marseille. For this reason they were banned from European competition the following season. Let us also not forget the scandalous treatment of Red Star Belgrade when they were beating AC Milan in the 2nd Round of the 88/89 European Cup. This is one of the most absurd stories I have ever heard in the history of European football. Red Star were beating AC Milan 1-0 with only half an hour still to play. AC Milan were also reduced to 10-men. Then the game was interrupted (the fog was admittedly extremely thick) but was scandalously restarted the next day at 0-0 and with Milan fielding 11 players!

AC Milan players and officials readily admit that it was an extremely "lucky" break for them.

Again, our record comprises 18 liga games, CWC which you just don't lose in, Copa without facing atletico or RM or Sevilla, and 5 CL games.

It also stands to reason that Capello's Milan went on 20 + undefeated streaks in all comps at the same time.

We're not winning the league undefeated either like Capello did.

For me it's irrelevant if you win a competition without losing. The only important thing is winning trophies and keep winning them like we all hope Barca will do.

It's impossible to deny that a 58-match undefeated record in the then almighty Serie A was not epic. But our record is impressive as well. If we can end the season undefeated and with another Treble, no other run in football history would be comparable. Hell, "merely" winning another Treble (defeats or no defeats) would be just be unprecedented.

I really don't care about these streaks, it's nice but it doesn't mean shit. We've won all trophies 2009 and five 2015, that's the stuff :messi1:
