FIFA ghave been asked by Brazilian club Santos to hand Neymar a six-month suspension for what they are calling non-compliance of contract terms during his transfer to FC Barcelona, Santos president Modesto Roma Jr. said via Catalonia radio on Thursday.

Santos are asking the six-month ban for Neymar and €55 million in damages, alleging that their former star did not keep the conditions of a transfer, an unnamed source told Brazilian daily O Globo.

Neymar former club is invoking Article 17 of the FIFA transfer rules regarding the consequences of terminating a contract without just cause.
A FIFA committee will now decide whether there is sufficient evidence to suspend the Barcelona star, Roma said.

The FIFA transfer rules state: "In addition to the obligation to pay compensation, sporting sanctions shall also be imposed on any player found to be in breach of contract during the protected period. This sanction shall be a four-month restriction on playing in official matches. In the case of aggravating circumstances, the restriction shall last six months."

Roma said the suit is less "against Neymar" and more "in favor of the club.
"I filed the case in May. Despite the fact that he is an idol, we are seeking this against Neymar because of things with which we are not in agreement," Roma told Esports Cope in Catalonia on Thursday. "In the transfer things were not clear and transparent. The court and the Spanish prosecutor have proven it, as have the Brazil courts. It is our understanding that FIFA must be involved in the administrative discussion. There are things that are not right and FIFA must pass judgment."

What a joke. What Santos are doing is fully against the player. If they want their money and think their obliged to, and have a case then go to a judge in Brazil and sue Neymar Sr and everyone else there, don't involve FIFA which will directly affect the player in question.

Neymar remains calm despite Santos's latest claims
The Barcelona striker has a document which he feels vindicates him

Sport EN | 15.10.2015 | 18:07h.
Barcelona forward Neymar remains calm, despite his former side Santos pushing for him to be banned from football for six months.
The Brazilian's representatives have once again pointed out that he has in his power a document from the former Santos president allowing him to negotiate his future with any club he wanted.
It's a document which is dated 2011, which is when the 23-year-old was given permission to talk about his future.

In addition, Neymar's team have also stated that Santos knew about the player's transfer to Barcelona, which saw them paid 17.1 million euros.

That figure, they say, was one which the Brazilian club were always in agreement with (the transfer fee was shared between three parties which all owned a percent of Neymar's economic rights).
For their part, FC Barcelona, who fully support Neymar, are also relaxed about the latest details to come out.

The Blaugrana will support their player in whatever way necessary, but, like Neymar, feel the documentation means Santos don't have a case - even if they are trying to claim 55 million euros.

It's hilariously petty as his issues come from Neymar Sr. but when he said "it's not against Neymar" Bullshit the dude comes off as a Butt Hurt Tool that Decided to target Neymar to be in the "Spotlight Himself". I also read not to long ago Santos was having problems paying it's own players as well and had some Financial issues.
