Get well soon rafinha. I really hope this isn't the end of his rise much like it was for Jonathan Dos Santos.

Seems like these corrupt assholes come up with new rules every week now.
And in November they'll say we're only allowed to sign a replacement in January.

Fuck FIFA!

Are you two guys for real?

It would be an absolute joke if the ban was lifted for Barca to register a new player.
The ban was coming and Barca was well aware of it. They opted to sign Suarez for many, many millions instead of strengthening the depth of the team to deal with an injury crisis.
It worked well out for the coming season as miracously, no one important got injured for more than a couple of weeks at best. Luck runs out at some point.
Fifa is not to blame here, only your former sport director and current board.

Except the ban has ended, Ryu. And fifa is making up rules as they go, now. Legally, Barça should be able to register Arda to replace Rafinha, as he got injured for the season, and the 2 windows ban has been served. But, for some odd reason, fifa won't let Barça do it. Not to mention the weird new sanctions they're giving to youth players, out of the blue.

AFAIK, Barca was not allowed to register new players in the previous transfer window. They didn't care and signed a few players anyways to register them during the NEXT transfer window (in the winter).
Allowing them to register Arda now due to the injury, would be a direct violation of the sanctions imposed upon Barca.

"They didn't care": Wrong, Barça was never banned from signing, but from registering. And teams are allowed to sign players from the same league when a season long injury happens. Like when rm signed Diego Lopez from Sevilla, when Casillas got injured. So Barça could even sign Arda now, from Atletico, if he wasn't signed already. Legally, he should be allowed to be registered, as the transfer ban has ende. It's an exceptional situation.

As for the first part, I know, look at my wording ;) As for the latter, is that a Spanish thing? I never ever heard about such a rule regarding Germany or England, let alone CL.
