Looked it up but couldn't find a thread about one of Barca's home town team.

Borussia was a force during the 1970's and won five Bundesliga titles and two UEFA-Cups while reaching another three european cup finals.

After nearly two decades of fighting relegation or being relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga the german side has become a stable Bundesliga outfit again qualifying for Europe three out of the last four seasons and making it to the CL for the upcoming campaign.

All that even though the club is known to lose their best players year after year to bigger/financially more wealthier clubs.
Just during the past couple of years guys like Marco Reus, Dante, Roman Neustädter, Marc ter Stegen, Christoph Kramer and Max Kruse have gone this route and a guy like Granit Xhaka will most likely join that list within a year or two, joining guys like Matthäus, Effenberg or even Patrick Andersson.

Anyways, there are quite a few interesting young players already in the pipeline to take over once given their chance, which is the clubs philosophie.

The current squad looks like that:

------------------Drmic-----------Raffael--------------

-Johnson-------------------------------------Traoré---

--------------------Xhaka------Stindl------------------

-Wendt---------Christensen----Schulz--------Jantschke-

------------------------Sommer-------------------------

Though, there are quite a few rotational possibilities with guys like Herrmann, Hazard, Hahn, Dahoud, Nordtveit, Stranzl, Brouwers, Korb, Hrgota etc. on the bench and ready to go.

So let's have some fun discussing everything Borussia, if you're interested.

A team that almost everyone agrees to like. Amazing transfer policy, decent management, good youth players.
My Hannover could only dream of that.

Not really sure about them. Once Favre leaves, I believe they'll return to mediocrity. He's definitely the best thing that happened to the club.

The core of Ter Stegen, Dante, Neustädter and Reus they had in 2011/12 was absolutely fantastic though.

Well, Favre has left(he wanted to go during the summer, but the club still believed in him) and we're back on track.
So far 4-1-1 under Schubert and that loss to City was an unessecary one, given that we had enough chances during that match.

We'll get back Stranzl in some time but we'll also be without Nico Schulz for six months and Patrick Herrmann might miss even more time.

Really good to see another kid from the academy doing well in Mahmoud Dahoud, who's starting alongside Xhaka in CM and playing really well.
The kid has loads of potential and is more in the mold of Gündogan playing that position.

Anyways, we're now facing Schalke twice within three days thanks to that cup draw in the 2nd round.
