WC Qualifers 2018 - Europe

France has incredible depth that is full of talented players but Deschamps won't take advantage of it. He's a stubborn dude who clearly has his favorites, and his tactics are very ridged.

Hell it took Rami getting suspended for one match and Mathieu and Varane getting injured before Umtiti got his chance and Umtiti didn't even make the final squad. and he was considered one of the best CB's in France that season.

Deschamps even went out of his way to reject him as Umtiti was part of the reserve list and thus should have made the team ahead of Rami.

To be fair, it was a great pressure from Larsson to force Llois making that msitake.

It wasn't. Lloris fucked up by himself.

How many games left? Could leapfrog Sweden or France.

Four. Since Sweden beat France there is a lot of pressure and The Netherlands' next game against France becomes all too important now.
If Netherlands loses against France(what is pretty likely) Sweden needs to lose against Belarus, Bulgaria or Luxembourg(which is unlikely).
Then head-to-head Netherlands would need to beat Sweden in the last game.

I hope the unfairly disallowed goal against Sweden won't come back to haunt us. Then again, Netherlands only have themselves to blame as points were dropped against Luxembourg and Bulgaria(both losses).

Why do you think so? France don't really play that well, and Deschamps might put up an even more retarded lineup under pressure.

Have you seen The Netherlands though recently? Disastrous. They redeemed themselves against Ivory Coast(friendly) and Luxembourg tonight somewhat. Hope Advocaat can continue this momentum.
But the gap between France and the Netherlands seems too significant. Still too dependant on Robben(fingers crossed he won't get hit by another injury). No other solid strikers. Stefan de Vrij is back though, and seems very solid.

On a good day they could beat France, but odds are against us. That's the unanimous sentiment here at least.

Anything can happen in a game like that.

To be fair, it had very little to do with that.

Hmm.. I'm not really so sure about that.

Lloris probably didn't expect Sebastian Larsson to actually continue with chasing after the ball.

So yeah, I sill think it caused Lloris to make that howler.
