That's because Piancenza played with 7 players from the start. Should have played 7-0-0 to avoid such embarrassment.

Pro Piacenza is about to go bankrupt and they did not have any senior players available nor players from the youth academy. In the past 3 games in a row they did not field any players and automatically lost 0-3. If that had happened for the fourth time in a row they would not face an expulsion from the third tier but 3 tiers below that!

All the 7 players were born between 2000 and 2002. Amateurs as well. Their 19 year old captain was also their manager.

What is even funnier they even struggled to field the minimum 7 players required as one of their amateur players (Isufi) license was only cleared 30 minutes before the end of the game when the masseuse (who had to step in) got cramps.

Insane stuff. Only in Italy.

In other words, Juve 13 points ahead of Napoli with 14 rounds left. We won't quite have as an "interesting" season ending as last season. Sadly. Expected though.

This is really some crazy stuff.

Do you know if it will be enough for them to just play every 4th game until the end of the season or must they play every game?

Yes, only in Italy.

I am not sure about that but I think that they can do what they did before as long as it does not happen 4 games in a row. In any case, I think that they will go bankrupt before that and then they will lose every of their remaining games 0-3 automatically. Not sure if they will face the same fate as Bari and other Southern Italian teams have faced in recent years, meaning expulsion to the lower divisions due to bankruptcy and financial problems. Not really read about their financial situation in depth as I have no affinity to Pro Piacenza or this part of Italy even.

However clubs, even historic ones, in the lower divisions (Serie B and downwards) going bankrupt and facing expulsions to the lower divisions happens regularly in Italy. We have the example of Lecce who faced this fate not many season ago. In each of their season they qualified to the next division. Now they are not far from promotion (theoretically speaking) to Serie A again!

Maybe the best example, recently, is Parma. Relegated to Serie D in 2015 and from that year onwards they got promoted to a higher division each season until they found themselves playing in the Serie A again this season! Great story.

1-0 Juventus and another mediocre performance(or so i heard), need better intensity and quality if they are going to even hope for a comeback vs Atletico.

He has been doing alright in Serie A, but he really knows how to sell players for good money, 80 millions for Morata is the GOAT-transfer.

Yeah Juve were really struggling in Serie A before Ronaldo weren't they?

Agree on Morata though. Perez making Abramovich his bitch.

He is doing alright, thats all im saying, but yeah, Serie A is a walk in the park regardless for Juventus, though i guess a possible "invincible"-tag counts for something.

They bought him to win CL though, but they forgot other crucial pieces that are needed, over the years, many bought into the thinking that CR = Champions league, guess the Atletico match was a wake-up call.

Whats the point of Serie A?

What is the point of your posts?

This league is a joke. Every opponent bend over against Juventus.

Not really a surprise.

Juve have always been the best and most consistent team in the domestic league while being the biggest choker in Europe with only 2 CL wins and 7 CL-final loses (most of all teams). They have almost always, with the exception of very short stints due to Berluscas emergence for AC Milan in the 1980's and certain other periods, been the most wealthy and best run club in Italy. They have always prioritized the domestic league while the likes of AC Milan were more prone to look towards Europe (European Cup/CL).

Calciopoli enabled them to start from scratch and to use the EPL/two Spanish giants approach of building their own stadium (hence the vastly bigger revenues) and professionalize the football club overall. Add to that a clever sporting team with Nedved and before that Marotta (now at Inter), good coaching choices in Conte (who helped win them their first scudetto in 2012) and Allegri and lastly plenty of great and above average transfers often for a cheap or free like in the case with Pirlo who gave them that extra push.

Add to that Milan and Inter both having some of their worst periods in history (the 2 main rivals of Juve historically and the financially and sporting wise strongest organizations) and you have a very easy path towards domestic dominance.

Teams like Napoli (as good as they have performed) cannot compete with a club like Juve that is way, way richer and which has a much greater pull for top players in and outside of Italy, much bigger revenues, better and more stable board and sporting project etc. Let alone Roma (most underachieving team in Europe compared to their potential IMO) and Lazio.

Actually it was mighty impressive how close a club like Napoli was to win last year.

There won't be any real excitement for the title as long as AC Milan and Inter are where they are although both clubs are improving and on the rise on all fronts (financially especially).

It pretty much equals to RM and Atlético being 2-3 times worse than they are currently. We would be winning every league title as well (we already won 8 in 11 years so our dominance is very clear as well and comparable to that of Juve actually) and both of those clubs (RM and Atlético) would not be showing anything in Europe either. Much like AC Milan and Inter in the past 5-7 years.

Don't forget that AC Milan won a CL title in 2007 and their last league title in 2011. Inter has not won a league title or a CL title since their treble in 2010. So it is not THAT many years ago where they were among the very elite but it seems like a century ago when looking at the total dominance of Juve recently who are on the curse to win their 8th scudetto in a row. Never would I believe to see such a state of Serie A and such dominance from any team. On the other hand I did not expect Bayern to win 6 league titles in a row (on course for their 7th in row) either or us winning 8 out of 11 league titles since 2008.

In any case despite Juves domestic dominance the league is on the rise as a whole. Economically, in terms of spending on the transfer market (only second to the EPL and actually ahead of La Liga), talent work and Italian giants like AC Milan and Inter are slowly but surely waking up. In particular AC Milan. Roma, despite their notorious inconsistency, had a historical CL run last season where they reached the CL-semifinals and they are building their own stadium and aiming very high (top 10) in the words of their president. So a lot of unfulfilled potential in the league. Probably more than anywhere else really.

Well said. Even tho a rival, I am glad to see AS Roma went ahead with their stadium project and didn't fuck around wasting any more time like Inter did with their stadium project. Italian clubs need to take this more seriously and start to build new and modern stadiums for themselves. Inter wasted so many years on this doing nothing, beside hiring coaches and signing players who didn't live up to the expectations. What is lacking at Inter is a firm project based on a proper football philosophy, good scouting and relying on younger generations. They wasted so much money on older players and losing many young talents with no convincing results to justify their transfer policies.

And the way they've handled the Icardi situation might hit a big blow on his price tag in this summer. Inter needs new faces in the summer, and a new coach with fresh ideas and not some outdated coaches like Mourinho with high salaries. If Inter is gonna think about overtaking Juve they need serious adjustments inside the club. And start building the fucking stadium!
