Sergio Busquets

Of course he won't play great in a 4-2-3-1, he wouldn't in 2010 either. He was always slow as fuck, and he never sprinted like a maniac when countered, he semi-keeps shape in these situations.
The team has been worse and worse in the situations they lose the ball, and the interiors are often completely out of position, leaving Busquets vulnerable.

The 4-2-3-1 was/is a mistake, as was the Rakitic-Vidal partnership.

Busquets is still great, even better than before, but he needs the right style and the right players around him. As did Xavi by the way.

I don't like him getting into the defensive line during build up at all
The team instantly lose all the passing lanes, all the triangles, and the play become easy to read.
This game he played Messi through to a 1v1 from this position, but still.

Can we just let this guy on the bench? We will never win a trophy again with this guy, just too freaking slow bro

Pedri looked excellent in the deep pivot position.

Indeed and the truth is there are a lot of advantages to both Frenkie & Pedri being interchangeable there as both are ball winners and able to transition from defense to attack. You need an attacking mid in that final third to break the lines too which Puig has been schooled in throughout his La Masia career. They form a very promising trio

Ah the old 'lets change the position of FDJ and Pedri' to get Puig involved.

Same folk that claim Koeman is amateur yet suggest this nonsense.
