Maybe Gomes or Rakitic should start in his position a few games. He should get a wake-up call of some kind, because this is pretty worrying.

Tbf he had a very tough job yesterday, the entire midfield was pretty weak and also we have to give credit to BMG the way they attacked. They really played well, we only won because they were too tired after 60 mins. But until then they made barca's job insanely hard.

I am sorry, but I have to say what I felt: He is a bit lazy these days. We all know he is slow, but with effort one can make it up. However he just doesn't cover a lot of ground in both directions and he is always several steps behind the opposing player when he was defending or chasing.

I wish I could say he needs to be benched to get out of this rut he himself is responsible. But as Flavia pointed out, we can afford that because he doesn't have a backup.

The thing about Busquets..his skill set is quite unique and what he brings to the team is quite specialised. He isn't quick, doesn't provide much penetration offensively (of late at least) and obviously isn't a physical destroyer. That's why, when he's bad, he's REALLY bad; because if he messes up things like getting out of a tight press and gives the ball away being the last midfielder, then he really can't make up in other areas of the game.

I hate to admit it, but I get the feeling it might be complacency? He's just been an automatic pick for so long...it happens to most people.

He is tired. Some rest and rotations and he will be running the whole team's build-up again. Also add the fact that basically every team that knows what pressing means has realized that Busi is basically the most important player to our system. So it is getting harder for him every season because more and more opponents try to keep the game away from him or utilize every possible situation to press him when he is isolated.
Busi will be fine like he has always been. He is the best defensive mid in the world after all.

Rakitic played as a DM for croitia Wonder why he's not tried there to rest Sergio .. a better fit for that position than gomes for now

Could be wrong in saying this, and I KNOW it's not his job at all, but interesting that Sergio still hasn't given an assist this season yet.
