Samper has never really looked quite good enough so far. The fact they bought another player that didnt perform doesnt change that.

The idea that Samper could have done what Gomes has done doesnt make sense. In place of Gomes or Samper should have been someone good enough.

I disagree and dont think Palencia is good enough but all for him being given chance and taking it if impresses Valverde. Anyone can see his work rate and everyone at club this season will have seen it.

He looked good enough for the type of role Munir/Sandro held in previous seasons. Especially with the midfield we have. Gomes coming does make a difference, we spent 35m on a player arguably worse than the one we let go. If we keep Samper and don't grab Gomes we could have both Samper and a player better than both of them.

Whether Palencia is good enough isn't the question, the question is if he can be. If we're willing to play Gomes at RB there's really no reason why we shouldn't be able to give Palencia a try.

No he didnt and Paco/Sandro by and large were slated as not being good enough and folk moaned about the squad depth.

Gomes coming makes no difference whatsoever to Samper being good enough it is a lame argument and all it says is that neither were good enough and should have bought better if anything.

There is no chance whatsoever Gomes is worse than Samper and him looking terrified to perform at Barca is not always something that can be foreseen.

Samper has shown himself to be ready to push through to a first team spot. The games he played he looked poor defensively and scared.

The question is whether Palencia is good enough to be given first team chances and he has to prove it this summer if given a chance.

He'll finally get his chance to show Valverde in Preseason what he can do. I think Valverde, will like him as Palencia is one committed player who gives it his all every game he plays in.

No he isnt.

Not the biggest fan of Bellerin but he is playing at levels above the diluted third tier of Spanish football.

Defensively and leadership wise he is better than Bellerin , but overall Bellerin is better and has more potential.

He hasnt proven that defensively at the level he is at. The players at that level are awful compared to top leagues in europe.

Bellerin has had good defensive games at highest levels as well as some poorer ones.

It's a stretch to say he's better than Bellerin. He very well could be, but it's too hard to say based on what we've seen of him so far. How he does in pre-season and with the first team during season if he impresses Valverde will be the best way to determine that.

Solid motherfucker. He's no Cucu, but the guy is stubborn and has an attitude. He has a chance.

I prefer investing in Verratti and Dembelé rather than splashing big money on overrated right backs (and I'm not going to name names:D)
