Much better game than his first one, which seems weird considering the fact that he had to face Rony Lopes, a better opponent than last week (he was against Gradel in Toulouse, who's a decent player but clearly not a monster). Bordeaux had the possession for quite a while, and he didn't have to defend much. Didn't bring a lot in the last 30 meters, but he managed to get the ball out in a clean way most of the time, finding his winger pretty easily. He's still gonna be benched once Sabaly comes back I think, but he did ok.
I think his level is mostly gonna depend on the type of player he's gonna face.

Started again for Bordeaux and they are currently on their way to making the Europa league group stages with a 2-0 lead with less than 15 mins to go.

Haven't been able to watch the game unfortunately, but apparently he had a pretty good game.

Sabaly is back from injury though, so he's going to play less, but with Europa league games to play he'll still get a few games this season, no doubt.

Nice words. Yes, he always gives his best on the field. Maybe he doesn't have talent to succeed at the top level but if he'll fail it won't be for the lack of effort. And I'm sure Bordeaux (and wherever he'll play in his career) fans will recognize that and like him even if he won't always play good.

These 270 minutes for Bordeaux would have done more for Palencia than all of last season in La Segunda. It is a nice (if surprising) progression for him. He's not an elite talent and sadly lacks the physical attributes to match his mentality and effort, but this loan can only be good for him.

All the best to him, if he works hard maybe he can have a career like Fernando Navarro which would be a great success for him.

Hopefully this move after Marlons opens the eyes for the board and they consider this route for Alena in January or even Riqui next season.

I'm all in for loans, but it needs to be taken seriously. In the first place, setting goals, what we want to get from that loan in particular. Is it playing time, guiding, improving value or something else. For instance, we're sending Cucurella to Eibar to grant him a better team, senior experience, Palencia only to give him the gist of first division football, not really improvement. But with Alena, on the other hand, it would be different. We'd be looking at the particular coach, his style, player's chances and so on. Then, we need to look for stable clubs (not like in Samper deals). Also, the competition he'll be facing. In the end, I believe it's important to do these types of deals early. So they can have preseason, adapt to the team. A few inevitable bad performances at the beginning can send one to the bench, which we don't want.

We have tried loans with Zubi and it didn't work much, there is a reason Italy is copying Spain's system and many in England thinks it should be replicated too.
Each player need his own path, loaning and Barca B should always be options that complement each others.
More important with loans we don't control the situation unlike Barca B. You send a player and coach dismissed and suddenlt he is on the bench, you need a team who really wants that player and is going to ofer a good enviromnet for his development, that isn't easy.
It isn't like half of French league was asking for him last summer and we rejected the offers

Great assist, but terrible game apart from tham ("L'Equipe" named him worst player of the game, despite the assist, which tells a lot). He's been very poor defensively. Let's hope he's learning. Sabaly (usual RB starter for us) is back from injury, but Poundje (LB starter) got injured during the game, so Palencia might start a few more games in the coming weeks.
