I would say Gomes was never a promising player.
Anyone with right football knowledge could see how he will end up here if they watched his Valencia games.

Should've started last night.

Will be Valverde's secret weapon for return leg though. Conte and Chelsea won't know what hit them.

Amazing that a player for Barcelona is so completely average or below average in every department. Thinks slow, slow on the ball, poor passer - poor vision, weak in the tackle and doesn't use his physicality, poor shot etc etc. The list of what this guy can't do is endless..

On a positive - it is a true story of hope. If there is a young player out there who doesn't have the skill or physicality to make it big time - he can just look at Gomes for inspiration. He can also look at Arda for how difficult it will be for Barca to remove him once he is found out.

To think we signed adra then after that said know what, we are going to sign Gomes, then after that they said oh what about Paulinho?
