Just another proof how stats can be misleading.

With Iniesta and Coutinho out and depleted options elsewhere we will be needing him to play more and more until the end of the month.

Might be misleading stat, but it at least provides slight comfort knowing that passing to him doesn't immediately lead to loss of possession.

We are not going to have world class players on every position. If he is going to keep being fielded I would at least like to see him grow from being a liability.

You are entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts.

Decent in passing but nothing special, 0 key passes, 0 dribbles, 0 crosses, 1 long ball, him and Paulinho were the worst performers in Anoeta. But since Iniesta is out then there's no choice. Could give Denis a chance as well.

He's good but simply not cut for this type of system, in high intensity matches, he will get caught out and he wont be able to produce much. He's actually more fit for a Portugal type of system and he might actually do better for Madrid than Barca. Same with Paulinho but at least Paulinho has been a great second striker in La Liga. Probably cash in on someone better, 3 seasons ongoing, he simply cannot stay on for a 4th season anymore.

The problem is that he wasn't signed to become a player who we'll only play when players are injured and there are no other options left.

He's not exactly earning peanuts.

He's not an impact player like Paulinho has proven to be. Just there to pass the ball back to a team mate and move around and simply not fuck up.

This is his 2nd season.

Could give Denis a chance as well.

No, please no.

My bad then, it cannot go on for a third season.

No, please no.

Why not? Both played around 10 - 11 matches, average 33 mins per game.

Denis has 2 goals, 2 assist, 3 big chance created, 56% successful dribbles.

Gomes has 0 goals, 0 assist, 0 big chances created, 45% successful dribbles.

It's clear who is better in place of Iniesta when creating chances.
