Morocco has been banned from the next 2 AFCONs and been fined.

Guinea has been fined as well for poor crowd control.

Congrats to Ivory Coast and Yaya.

Loved how calm Renard was at the PK shootout.

Yeah but somebody must have read the match report and at least watched the shootout. I would assume those would at least leave a quick post here, share a vid etc.
And we probably have some African users here don't we?

People would actually give a shit if they didn't hold this tournament every 2 years. Glad the elephant won though.

Um why that's overkill especially that it's in the middle of the European season.

The competition helped the game in Africa way too much ,it has helped many NT and many African football in rebuilding its football infrastructure and that is why you see countries like guinea hosting it .the importance of competitions can be written in essay actually
And the competition is in the end of most African league , I don't like because the league here in North Africa is on same time with Europe but I can understand the reasoning .

Morocco's Afcon sanctions overturned by CAS

After withdrawing from hosting the 2015 tournament, the nation were banned from the next two editions but their appeal has been upheld

Morocco will have the chance to qualify for the next Africa Cup of Nations after having their ban overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

After withdrawing from hosting the 2015 tournament due to concerns over the spread of Ebola, Morocco were banned from the next two editions of the competition by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

An appeal was lodged by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), and that appeal has been upheld by CAS, meaning the national team will take their place in qualifying for the next edition, while their fine of €900,000 has been reduced.

"The CAS Panel has upheld the appeal in a large proportion," a statement read.

"The sanctions imposed by the CAF on the FRMF have been set aside, with the exception of the fine, which is however reduced to $50,000 (€45,000).

"The disqualification of the Moroccan team from the CAN 2015 is final."

Equatorial Guinea stepped in to host the tournament in Morocco's absence, with Ivory Coast eventually coming out victorious on penalties in a final against Ghana.
