That's another reason to play him at DM. If he makes a rare "mistake" (which happens only once about every 5 games or so while playing outta position) he would have cover from the two CBs.

Pique-Mathieu but only when Pique is on form. These days you never know how well Pique will play. Mathieu-Masch would probably be the safest CB pairing for any given game though I don't really like that pairing and I don't like Masch at CB either.

Every single CB in the world makes mistakes in big games.

Masch hasnt even made that many - can almost guarantee he has far more MOTM awards in big games than he does errors.
