Pedro Rodriguez

Pedro wanted to leave for more game time to help his prospects in making the final Spain Euro's squad. I like Pedro, but what's the point of keeping a player who clearly wasn't happy? He was good enough to start for a lot of teams and he took Chelsea's offer and it's paying off for him.

Heck the club didn't want to sell him in the first place, but Pedro wanted to go. Arda was brought into reinforce the Midfield after Xavi left and Gomes was clearly brought in because we made gamble to see if it can pay off in the future.

We are all frustrated in regards to Gomes and Arda, but with Pedro it's pretty simple what happened. he got sick of riding the bench here and took a pretty great gig somewhere else and who could blame him?

Not sure how people claim Pedro was disrespected. Disrespected by whom? The fans who chanted his name? The ones who were ecstatic when he scored the winning goal in the UEFA Super Cup? The ones who wished him well when the club respected his decision and wish to leave for playing every week and new adventures?

If anything then in recent times Abidal and perhaps Alves were the ones who were disrespected, but not by the fans, but by the Board.

Maybe he was promised a more important role than the minutes he actually got to play.

Such a shame we disrespect hard-working la Masia guys for expensive crap.

We have shown him nothing but respect, at this point of his career the ultimate respect for a player is to let him control his destiny.
He had one year contract, we offered renewal and he asked for 30M release clause and got it, Chelsea came with an offer and we tried to convince him to stay and he decided to leave.they paid release clause and he left. Can't see and disrespect by any mean by the club.

Maybe he was promised a more important role than the minutes he actually got to play.

We tried to convince him to stay, but he got an offer from EPL champions with a promise to start, promising him more minutes than what he already got in 2015 would have been a lie,and that is disrespetc

Good question. They have isco and james in their bench.

I guess we were just unlucky thiago didn't want to stay here.

Well neither of those two were ever certain starters who saw their position dropped to semi-perma bench.

Also, we weren't unlucky with Thiago, the board and Tito basically forced him out.

Barring serious injury, he should have at least one more year at top form, maybe longer given his small light frame. Doesn't seem to have lost any of his pace yet. Chelsea should be a contender next year as well, though both Man City and Spurs should keep it competitive. And he'll get both CL and Spain time. Glad the move worked out for him.
