6 - Carles Alena

It's a travesty this guy hasn't debuted for us yet. Look at those first touches. Not only that he knows how to move in conditions of limited space, but he also uses the opponent's movement in a way only Messi, Busi and Iniesta can do in our team.

Rakitic and Gomes don't even have the mental capacity to think about what Alena does under pressure, let alone possessing the quick feet and technical ability to execute some of those first touches.

Pity we don't have Pep anymore, or Rijkhaard, because if we did, he'd have 4-5 games under his belt with the first team already, given his quality on the ball.

We should promote Alena instead of buying Goretzka in January. Alena is clearly a better player and prospect than Goretzka.

Disgusted seeing him oozing class all over the pitch and we have to put up with Raki in our midfield.

It won't be long before he will be looking to leave.

President of FC Barcelona
Pep Segura and freeloader Braida talking with him after training today. Hope they're not planning to ship him off to Sevilla in January.

But his development with the B team is more important than anything.

He has already debuted for first team.

Gotta think he plays in the copa match this week? I'd give him a run of a few games in the first team. Seems like he'd be better off in the right CM position but Rakitic has that spot solidified.

WOW! This kid is the best La Masia prospect in years. I haven't seen such ball control in B team from the time Thiago Alcantara played here! He simply must become a WC player and we can’t afford to make a single mistake with his development.

This time next year I want to see him in the first 11 of FC Barcelona! Our biggest problem right now is that our midfield is full of players who have hugely declined (Rakitic, Arda), players who should have never been bought (Gomes, Paulinho) or players who will never be good enough (Rafinha, Denis). Because of that this kids entrance to the first team is beeing blocked.

Just fucking offload at least some of them in the winter and give this kid a fair amount of minutes with A team so he can be ready for a big role next year. I really hope we can at least offload Arda, Rafinha and one of Gomes/Rakitic in the winter. Imagine having Coutinho and Alena in starting line-up next year. It would be a true relevation after this slow and uncreative midfield we are forced to watch for some time now.

That said non-stop playing for a B team in Segunda is fantastic for him right now but he should of course start playing some matches for A team ASAP.

I honestly think Valverde wants stability in the front office so he can trim the squad to 19-21 players. So he can start developing our young guns. The team is bloated and holding back development of key young players. , like Alena and Denis, who after a good run is benched for no apparent reason other than to play other guys.
