The results with Alena on the field have not been good, he has not shown yet that he is the answer. You've got to like his approach, always attacking, but the killer passes and shots have been absent.

Yeah just look at the killer passes and shots Rakitic and Vidal keep banging in every 5 mins.

So Alena's not been good because he doesn't give killer passes and shots, but Vidal being lucky to complete any pass at all and Rakitic just kind of being there for an entire game without doing much of anything are completely fine?

This is his first month of getting any decent minutes as a first team player and he's slotted in just fine. If you want to blame a lack of creativity on anyone, blame Valverde, as he's the one who clearly has no interest in running a creative midfield.

Great impact, i like him more and more, at least he's hungry, we lack hungry and he has the balls to try, not just let messi do it.

The hype would have been insane if he was playing in Eredivisie or Ligue 1.
This season would be his 2nd or 3rd season in their first team and he would have become their main playmaker or #10 by now.
He is currently adapting to the team and La Liga so he is still playing more cautiously but Eredivisie or Ligue 1 would be obviously much easier for him to demonstrate his true talents.

Haha, so true. People here would be raving about him to sign him asap, add to that numerous clubs would be interested in him aswell.

He still has a way to go, but he has the physique and the technical skills to succeed in modern game, not so sure about how good his football intelligence is, because its still relatively early.

But if we are betting on him(& puig) over Rabiot, I'm fine with it. Give the lad some chance, even bums like Denis and Gomes got at least 2 years each.

Alena would be like Pele times Maradona in the current Eredivisie.

Tadic, a mediocre, inconsistent player who eventually rode the bench more often than not at Southampton instantly took the league by storm and became* Ajax's best player by a mile. Even Jose Altidore and amateur Lucas Piazon looked like prime Henry and Kaka - respectively - when they played there. You can scout talents there but not performances - they're worthless.
