Paco Alcácer

It's actually going to be hilarious if he ends up being world class and the board will end up spending 100M+ on some other striker.

Well at least 28 of these 100 came from Paco in this case because sure as hell we wouldn't talk like that about him now if he had stayed.

Probably would've played like 200 minutes by now, half of that on the wing and everybody would call him useless again.

It was the best for both sides honestly, the only questionable thing is the buy option being fairly low but oh well.

according to BILD Dortmund already want to make it permanent. Also Kicker reported that Paco had already signed an automatic contract extension till 2023 with Dortmund together with the loan+BO deal, so Paco will definitely be signed if BVB say so. The whole package is supposed to be 23m and includes the loan fee.

I doubt BILD knows it better than our club:

FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement for the loan of the player Paco Alcácer for the 2018/19 season. The German club will pay FC Barcelona 2 million euros for the loan and will pay the player’s wages.

Borussia Dortmund retains an option to buy the player for 23 million euros plus 5 million in variables and FC Barcelona has the right to match any future transfer offer of a third football club. Furthermore, FC Barcelona will retain 5% of any future profit from the sale of the player by Borussia Dortmund to a third party.

So its 2 + 23 + 5 bonus

,,FC Barcelona has the right to match any future transfer offer of a third football club"

does that mean that if another club offers for example 40 mil , we can take the money ?

No that means that if Dortmund wants to sell and agrees to a 40M deal they have to inform us and then we can decide if we want to buy him back for 40M instead

30 mil is by no means bad price but if he becomes one of the best, it will be hilarious mistake. We kept Suarez over him and Munir. Barcas system is not good for 99,9% of the players.

Well he had 2 seasons here. It is not like he performed here for Barcelona to consider this a mistake. He was rotting here and losing market value.

What he has done in a short time in Dortmund is incredible. But then again, Paco was always a talented player from being one of the high scorers in the Spain youth categories to being Spains starting striker in 2015 (mentioned this before). He should of been more here but it will never happen in the error of the 20 minutes every 5 games B striker option.

But him moving out of Barcelona is best for both parties.

Munir got 14 goals and 7 assists last season and look at him now hes back.

Deloufeu was incredible at AC Milan and look at him back here.

Sandro had a great season at Malaga, many wanted him back, but look what he has done since.

Denis Suarez was great at Villarreal and got in the Spain squad. Look at him back here.

Paco is enjoying being free and important again. Lets get the money and let him move on.

Do we even have a system? I doubt it since Guardiola left.

The only system is either pass to Messi and then do multiple 1-2s with him till he has a shot at the goal OR pass it to jordi alba who low crosses the ball in the center of the box, only for Messi to score. Occasionally a killer pass from Busquets, but that's also a rarity nowadays.

Other than that, its just sideways passing, and Coutinho burning out in final three & going for the shot or Dembele having little to no support uptop.

This Barca needs a serious revamp, we need some architect who could build a system, not a contractor who just does the job for the sake of it.

Depends really on the system.

The system rotted out so much that people think that it's some of the player's fault that they aren't performing as well. This system is pretty much a far cry compared to even Lucho's treble-winning season even in that season we did have some Midifeld issues but we did bring the directness back and more off the ball work. that alone would help a lot of players in this squad.

Not saying Paco would still be a good fit but the system we have is pretty bad.

It will take a strong manager to replace the seniors and implement a more contemporary, direct style of play.

The board is more interested in pleasing the whims and fancies of the seniors.

That's why they hired yes man.
