Why would Bartra play in a somewhat dangerous away match?
(Especially 3 reserve players in a defense, together? Adriano-Bartra-Montoya?)
Enrique will play with 2 out of these 3 players: Mathieu-Masch-Pique.

Champions league group stage matches, cup matches and easier home La Liga matches are matches were you can rotate more and give more chances to your 4th or 5th choice players.

This is not one of those matches.

He can't be too much worse than Montoya.

If other 3 guys are "safe bets", then you are right. He can also play.
But him and Bartra or Adriano on the pitch, that is too risky for an away game.

I was partially right about Mathieu and Alves, though it's probably due to the turnover and not a punishment after Levante's game, we still have 2 games in 4 days.

And how about Bartra as a RB? or maybe a 3-5-2 where Bartra-Pique-Mascherno are the 3 fullbacks.
