What's up with Bayern though? Physicality was known to be their thing right, they seemed physically dominated by this young Dortmund side.

A combination of factors: Injuries (Coman, Tolisso and lately Thiago), relying in aging and declining players such as Robbery, Martinez and Boateng, players underperforming (such as Mueller and James), Kovac seeming to have lost the dressing room (German media faulted him for speaking too much Croatian during training, fights with James over playing time, Ribery openly snubbing him, and there are apparently two moles in their dressing room that always leak stuff to the media) and on top of that Bayern's board's refusal to spend money buying quality players.

That Canadian kid they are adding looks pretty promising and Coman is almost ready to return so we will see.

Yup. That presser by the two Bayern big wigs was such an embarrassment that Bayern became a piece laughing stock. Typical FC Hollywood stuff.

I think next summer them and Real Madrid will be spending big.

True, but I think next summer Bayern will be forced to spend big, especially if they fail to win the Buli title this season.

Hoeness said that he might be retiring in a couple of years leaving a full cash register for his successor. Either way Bayern will be spending big soon, in my opinion.

Dortmund should enjoy this while it lasts, we all know what will happen in the summer.
Creds to them for building great teams on a budget(relative to other big clubs) though.

Bayern won't be able to buy from Dortmund on the cheap anymore.
