vs real madrid

vs Atletico madrid

And that is not including his double save against RM, the messi header, and many more. All very easy peasy indeed. :pep:

He had a pretty uneventful debut. Not much work to do since RM were dominating. He did however display superior reflexes than Iker when the ball was near him. He also had a hand on a penalty. It still went in but if he moved a bit quicker, he would have stopped it. Something Iker would never have accomplished.

Still he is stuck on the bench.

To be fair then Casillas has done nothing wrong so far, it has all been because of their inbalanced lineup + defence.

BUT.... It still looks like Real Madrid and we're in the same boat. Keylor Navas got one game so far only, as rotation, just like Ter Stegen got one game only so far, also rotation, with both Iker and Bravo set to play out the CL and LL games this season it seems.

The difference is that Keylor Navas is 28, speaks Spanish and is a lot better than Iker

I'm not advocating for either goal keeper, because frankly it's real's problem and not ours. but letting casillas play now seems reasonable, because imo his current form comes from not playing regularly for two years and low self confidence from the resulting mistakes. If he could regain both of that, he would still be a great asset to madrid, and the only way of doing so is playing and finding a rythm

When you have an imbalanced lineup that needs to play, the GK needs to be that much better to stop shots. Navas is clearly better, younger, and more flexible. Iker has been screwed because some of the goals weren't his fault but if he were as good as Navas he would have a chance to stop some.

RM are basically hanging Iker up to dry by playing players that will give him no defense and let the ball get near the goal.

Why did this guy join them..........
I'm kinda sad how RM treats him. We all know that Casillas will stop being N1 in January or in Summer and that would be fine if Navas is the next N1 but I doubt that. RM is probably looking to sign De Gea / Lloris or something like that.

This summer has been an awkward one regarding the GK transfers. Navas join Real: sit on the bench. Willy Caballero join City, sit on the bench. MatS join Barca, sit on the bench. Oblak join Atletico, sit on the bench! Wth...
