I remember him saying a few years ago, that bringing in players when you have xavi, iniesta, & messi is very difficult & some of the usual suspects agreed with him.

It's when he said these comments that I knew we were fucked, if you can't attract players by pitching the fact that they will play with some of the greatest players ever, in a wonderful city, while being paid more than any other team will offer.

It simply means you weren't looking to bring in those kinda players & believed what we had would last forever, zero long term planning is what has caused this, akind to man utd & SAF, no one thought to plan for the day he left.

Idiot!.

It was difficult tbh, players like those made many of our transfer target cautious of joining here and not getting playing time.
We could have got Dembele for 15M if we didn't have MSN, but he looked and them and declined our offer because he wasn't going to get minutes there.

Yep yet bayern, city, madrid, psg all had young players with bright futures signing for them, while they had world class players in there XI.

It's no excuse, for every player that didn't want to come because we had those players thier were two who were willing.

Madrid isn't in any better situation than us, and they went for overrated expensive players from Brazil.
Bayern have been in bad situation before Flick, they weren't getting that much of credit before it
City has other clubs to same ownership that they use. And PSG never had players or squad of same aforementioned players.
And we signed many good talents for Barca B tbh, some succeeded relatively while other disappointed.
Sometimes you get Pedri, others you get Halilovic

Madrid are in a much better position than us for there rebuild imo.

Bayern got a good coach, but the squad was there already because the persons in leadership positions were already planning for the future, they had a few bust but again much better than us in their succession planning.

City again much better than us, they are able to attract young talented players even though there sqaud is stacked filled of WC players in there prime, something bartomeu said was difficult for us to do.

It's all about planning & executing properly, being proactive instead of reactive like this board has always been which has led us down the bath we are currently on.

Even if he started the rebuild after the anfield embarrassment we would be much further along than we are now.

Real Madrid are definitely in better shape in their rebuild. Their process started with Cristiano leaving and it's been going on smooth so far with few bumps. Of course it gets a few managers sacked after another El Clasico humiliation, but it's not the downfall Barcelona are in. Now with the prospect Ramos leaving and Modric retiring at some point they still have great options with transfers. Barca doesn't have this advantage seems to me at the moment.

Smooth mainly in balancing the books sense and completing some financial goals. Sportingwise it's certainly way worse than hoped when Zidane returned

Managers with good/great tactical knowledge are no longer effective as they were back 10 years ago. Football nowadays is all about the overall fitness/condition of the team and which team can run/pressure more. The technical aspect of the game is diminished and used just for some highlights.

Bartomeu was at home while the police arrested him this morning. He played a big role in the BarcaGate scandal. Jaume Masferrer has also been arrested. [cadena ser]

Absolute scenes.
