Why TF we sign semi retired players or those who play like semi retired ones, nowadays.

The crap we already bought:

Vidal
Gomes
Paulinho
Alcacer

The crap which we are willing to buy:

Alacantra (Him wanting to move to us is BS, he would rather move to city. Its Baffling to me that people here want a Bayern reject for 60M+, who too is injury prone)

Pjanic (Slow AF, injury prone, overrated (by Barca Board, 28 already)

Gundogan (If you want someone to burn cash on, and see him injured for most of season)

Sooooooo... You smoke medicinally or just for recreational purposes?

Gundogan, Pjanic and Thiago are all much better footballers in their respective positions than Gomes etc.

If not Thiago, I would not mind Pjanic for a second. He has been world class since his last season at Roma and a constellation of Busquets-Rakitic-Pjanic could be deadly. After we've seen how good Rakitic is for Croatia alongside Modric, Pjanic could be a solid investment for as low as 50-65 mil euros (including a deal with Juventus for Digne).

He averages 2 key passes pr. game which is very high for a CM. Playing in a primarily defensive-minded Allegri-side, Pjanic could easily exceed his previous stat output (5 goals + 8 assists in 28 games)

Instead of picking up a tiring data research amidst my exam period, I luckily fell over this very in-depth and exhaustive data analysis on Pjanic' first season at Juve. This guy would be a stellar reinforcement for our midfield and at a perfect age/time in his career at 28 years old; with Arthur and Alená coming in at 21 and 20 respectively, that would be the perfect balance of experienced proven midfielders and newcomers getting integrated and moulded for the future blaugrana midfield;

Paulinho, 30 (birthday next month) - Rakitic, 30 - Busquets, 30 - Pjanic, 28 - S. Roberto, 26 - Arthur, 21 - Alena, 20 would give us an average midfield age of around 26 years of age. If we are to keep D. Suarez, 24, that would only bring that number down as well.

For the line-up including the new additions of Arthur, Alena and possibly Pjanic (with talks of Valverde going for a 4-2-3-1) we could be looking at a lot of different approaches, if we are to look at the classic 4-3-3, which I would prefer in addition to unleashing Messi as a false 9 once again:

Or if Valverde is to change as per recent rumors to a 4-2-3-1 double pivot we could see a couple of different approaches

With Alená and Arthur interchanging with Pjanic and Rakitic.

Conclusively the article on Pjanic in his first season at Juve (2016/17):

I honestly don't know what's happening this point in our Midfield search.

Arthur is obviously coming this summer but who else?

De Jong-Ajax made it clear he isn't leaving this summer so that crosses him off the list.

Thiago-It seems while the locker room and likely Abidal want him back, Segura on the other hand doesn't want him back.

Pjanic-If what Braida said is true he was never considered an option with Arthur coming.

Very good player, but not a fan of signing him. A Pjanic/Busquet/Rakitic midfield would be pretty uninspiring given that all three are basically holding midfielders. I also don't think Pjanic would be much of an upgrade on Rakitic, so signing him to replace Rakitic and play alongside Busquets and another midfielder wouldn't be a great idea either.

Turning down a top class player for some Brazilian flavor of the week that may or may not turn out to be a total flop.

Classic.

Maybe we are targeting an attacking CM. Coutinho as a LW?

Coutinho Messi Dembele
Alena/ New CM Rakitic/ Arthur

Is this our plan?
