We've been linked with him quite heavily in recent weeks, probably due to the Barca-Villareal game in which he performed very well. What do you guys think of him as a possible CB option?

Don't know much about him, but if his contract's up in June, he'll be cheap so getting him shouldn't hurt. He'd provide some depth at the very least.

I like him, not the tallest but aggresive and good on the ball.

A bit off putting is how puny and little his head looks in that picture though!

Good CB, not the best of course, but he will definitely do for a back up. Just hope he won't renew his contract with Villareal first and then sign with Barcelona, heard he is really close on a renewal until 2017.

I hope he does sign the new contract before leaving it would be better for Spanish football if they get a decent fee for him.

Manchester City and Chelsea both linked today as well.

We should try and get this deal done in January, preferably before he renews. Another good thing is that he's not cup-tied like Otamendi/Mangala/Luiz.

He is not that tall, around 6ft.

Puyol was even shorter, yet he was good in the air. With a combination of Pique, Bartra, and Musacchio probably being the main rotations for CB we'd have pretty good height with one at 6ft4 and the others at 6ft

And if we do indeed manage to get him in a couple of weeks, then one of Mascherano or Song is certain to leave in Summer. My bets on Song.

Exactly. Look at Alexis for example: short man, killing it at headers. And Busquets at 1,89 can't head the ball if his life depended on it.
