Im very disapointed in Messi, he has the greatest talent in the world and could easily be the greatest player to ever walk the earth by far, but perhaps he won't be recognized as clearly the greatest ever by far if all, because his mentality has been going down the drain in the past seasons... he is not a hungry dog anymore, I remember when he was still, fighting like a lion, running like crazy, pushing, shooting... nowadays we rarely see this, its like one game he is hungry and the next he just doesn't feel like it.. walks around, passes the ball away, does almost nothing, doesn't fight or run much, just like he can't be bothered, like he doesn't even want to play. Cristina has so much less talent yet they compare her to Messi because Messi lets it, because Cristina gives her 110% every single match and every single minute, fights like a lion and has insane dedication and willpower and looks like a man on a mission, to be the best. If only Messi had such a mentality...

I do admit, Messi was not very good tonight. He was in chill mode. But that last goal was pure Messi. Such wonderful skills.
And please stop comparing Ronaldo to Messi. IF Ronaldo has to do what Messi is asked to do, he wouldn't be the player he is. There's no comparison to anyone like Messi in world football right now.

True, you can't really put a finger on Messi's mental preparedness/participation/engagement, it is very inconsistent indeed. That said, I felt this season he is far better than the previous two seasons though in this regard.
Of all I just hope he brings his desire and competitiveness in big games.

Yup, if anything he played like Ronaldo tonight. Gets dispossessed a lot, a lot of goals like Messi's first goal...
It was v. Cordoba so he'll get a pass. He has had superb games lately so one bad one is fine.
That's why goals aren't the end all be all. Messi was much better v. Getafe and had zero goals. He was really bad tonight outside of the last goal. But yet in football, the general fans only care about goals (hence the hype Ronaldo gets despite playing a lot of games like Messi did today).

don't be silly, thats not average, those are great numbers (comparable to 2010 and only in 2011 and 2012 he had better numbers)
