Why is it only interesting to see how they do against United, City and Chelsea? Why not Spurs and Liverpool? Why not Dortmund and Napoli?

For the record, you don't even have to win against the top sides to win the league. So, that's a poor argument.

the point is that sunday is a more genuine test of arsenal's title credentials against a title rival that has got the better of them for many years, because arsenal have not won the league title in so many years people are going to be skeptical about there ability to stay up there throughout the whole season. the only way arsenal will convince people is to go and win the league, until they do that they have not proved themselves. it will be interesting to see how they do against united, chelsea and city this season, they were well beaten by chelsea a couple of weeks ago...
The team that has to prove something now is United. Right now, their "title credentials" look anything but convincing.

Arsenal win or a draw. Let's not get ahead of ourselves though. Bayern or an in form Barcelona would still definitely beat them in the CL knockouts. I would back Dortmund to win over two legs as well and even think real and atletico would have a good chance of knocking them out.

Atletico would have a good chance, they may even be favorites. Real, with the way they're playing now? No way in hell. You never know what will happen, but Real would be pretty significant underdogs against Arsenal in my book.

manu need to win this more than we do. I'd be happy with a draw and even if we lose we'd still be 2 points clear of everybody. However, the pressure is on manu. Do they buckle under pressure or rise to the occasion? Time will tell.

i don't consider liverpool or spurs as title contenders, spurs don't have good enough strikers and the liverpool squad in general is not quite there yet, united, city and chelsea will be the teams that arsenal are competing with at the top of the table hence why those fixtures are more relevant. as for napoli and dortmund, i am discussing arsenal's league title chances here so that is not really relevant. as for not having to beat the teams you are competing with, it is going to be very tight at the top the table come the season's end so those clashes between the top 4 teams will have a big say in where the title goes, if arsenal don't get the right results against united, chelsea, city it could well cost them the title...

I really don't see United challenging for the title this year. Your goal should be top four.

People keep forgetting that one of the biggest factors of uniteds domination has gone it s not going to be the same like before. The is a new person in the driving seat so to say it's going to be the same as recent years is short sighted and not looking at all the factors. Same players new manager but 8th in the league speaks volumes. It not fergie but moyes who seemed to have kept up the trend of not beating the top 4 sides at man u. This a game where the pressure is more on moyes the wenger a lose and that's it 11points behind. And at the mo moyes is treating man u like a mid table team. Arsenals away form has been amazing 14/15 wins no loses beating the two champ league finalist aswell speaks for itself. Only a fool would believe it's same old same old without looking at the big picture

Be a close game, 1-0 or 1-1, frankly if we dont play for the win ill be worried for moyes future tactically, that game against chelsea for example was shocking. A win is needed at this point to catch up, a loss we would still be behind anyway. Go for the win, and lose id still be happy.

Our form (results-wise, at least) hasn't been too bad, of late.

Unbeaten in 8, now.

This is true test of Moyes as a manager....Arsenal are obviously better team and if we play like we did against Southampton or Westbrom we will get hammered and we can't dominate their midfield so, only way we can beat them is on the counter especially if we are without carrick....
