5 best teams this season?

That were only true if Bayern and Barca would have squared off against the exact same sides so far, which obviously is impossible. ;)
I mean, you can barely even compare the leagues. Saying Barca had the better results so far would be basing that claim on something we call 'Milchmädchenrechnung' in German, a term you know, I think ;)
However, I see your point that if one were to throw better judgement out of the window and cling on to nothing but numbers without the urge to interpret them, then one could definitely say there is truth to that.
Otherwise, I think a comparison based on league results (while both teams are playing in different leagues) tells the story only up to a certain point and can easily be dismissed.

You have a point. Sure you might argue that the Buli teams Bayern played were better teams than the La Liga teams we faced, but that's also subjective, isn't it?

Comparing league results is certainly not the most scientific way of comparing and assessing performances of these teams, but there has to be some sort of a point of reference, right? Otherwise we can proclaim that unless these teams are playing the same teams, one can never compare the results.

We weren't really fighting, but thanks for proving my point :barca scarf:

I know, I was just kidding, or I shall say it was just the figure of my speech.

Ryu does have a point though. This whoscored list is not perfect either, ranking the likes of Leverkusen and RM ahead of Arsenal, for example. But they (whoscored) do try to cut through the issue of point of reference that Ryu raised and rank teams' performances based on some generally- applicable metrics. Of course, even with that a Bayern fan can still argue, for example yeah Barca have a high % of pass completion rate, but that's because La Liga teams are so crappy and they let us roam freely whereas the much stronger Bundesliga teams caused more headaches for Bayern! ;)

Widely accepted? Are we talking about the website which named Carvajal the best RB in Europe last season? :D
The website which now calls Inter 4th, Wolfsburg the 10th and HSV the 15th best team in Europe?:D :D
Sorry, not to steal your thunder, but I stopped taking these guys seriously long time ago.

and rank teams' performances based on some generally- applicable metrics.

Alright, in that case we would have to take a closer look at their methodology, I guess. But given the above results, there seems to be something inherently wrong...

They beat City comfortably, but in that match it was more City's weaknesses and their lack of effort that were striking than Bayern's dominance.

Not sure. 81 (if I didn't count incorrectly back then) consequtive passes without interruption don't just happen because the opposition is so weak... ;)

Let me see, maybe I can find the video, I'm referring to.

here you go ;)

What's the alternative, Ryu? Which source do you propose that we should use? Uli Hoeneß' and Rummenigge's personal statements?

Well, as you know, Hoeneß is known for always telling the truth and generally being an honest person, so why not? ;)
