Great bit of insight from the man

Really embarrassing for Real to their coach say stuff like that.

He also repeated after the game that there was no explanation of why they couldn't score. Really? As manager of one the biggest clubs in the world you have no explanation? That is just quite something.. It feels a bit like 'the fraud has been exposed', and these comments kind of supports that image.

There is very little explanation for having 28 chances, 18 shots and for not scoring a single goal. This particular result IS lack of luck. Combined with a bit of normal Undiano Mallenco retardedness of course. Nothing more.

So the scenario is: One team plays bad for most of the game, but gets cynical in the end and wins - sounds familiar?
That is what Real has been good at the last few seasons, tbh, and if that is just unexplainable, then the recent campaigns really was luck as well.

I get what you are saying: Sometimes the team just has an off-day and the opponents goalkeeper turns into a monster. But it has happened for too many games for it to be only luck now, hasn't it? (Although I know he can't say that Ronaldo is getting rusty and that Marcelo should wake the f*** up, in the press).

This didn't happen frequently at all. Betis game comes to mind. The only running theme is that RM had one good half of play. Lack of goals was an on and off thing, see Sevilla game. Basically there is no continuity in winning and scoring resulting from not controlling whole games. And if you're going to go with some altered form of "RM was lucky to win 5 trophies" then we really have nothing to talk about, do we?

If Zidane has balls he should start subbing of Ronaldo instead of Bale.

Cristiano is undroppable and will always play 90 minutes when he's fit despite being utter shite, regardless whoever is the RM-manager.

After all, he would probably create fuss & disrupt the team.

It is really too good to be true. Cristiano is declining rapidly, but the manager ain´t got the balls to bench him. I think Zidane is too cowardly to buy a replacement in the January window.

Not true. Zidane substituted him last season a couple of times to save him for CL.
But maybe some dynamics have changed inside the locker room this year. If Zidane feels he lost the respect he indeed might have become afraid to sub him this season.

It is a whole different ball game to substitute Ronaldo when Real are looking for winners and not playing well as opposed to rotating/resting when tp og league and with CL in mind.

Back then, Zidane convinced Cristiano to completely skip games vs. weaker teams despite the latter doing well domestically.

This time, Cristiano has been utter shite in LaLiga and doesn't deserve to be a starter on merit rn.

Was Messi or Suarez ever dropped based on lack of merit?
