So the guy makes a naming mistake is heresy and your manager being stupid about Bale's transfer isn't? Wonderful!

What's stupid about what Tata said about the 100m? I don't even think it was only about Bale, but transfer fees in general. They are out of reality. Neymar, Torres, Cavani and many others, all had insane numbers. But Bale is something else right now.

Being stupid? Paying a record fee for a player that isn't even the top ten at the moment in the world to enter a squad that has no need for him and is already complete, where the manager does not care for the signing as well all over the backstage of the most difficult global economic climate in as far as we can remember where the domestic country is in one of the worst shape for the western countries of the world. Ya, no your right. :-/

You do realise Bale is being overpaid by only about 10-20mln? When Henry was at the top of his career he would be valued about 60-65mln too. These 10-20mln is the threshold Real needed to get over with Levy and what they could afford due to the revenues. Poor Real not caring about the global economy. I'm sure Martino isn't happy about Neymar's fee either, but somehow he doesn't mention that in general is he? No, he just said it's lack of respect for the world. LMFAO why even say it then? It's not like that kind of a transfer (Bale that is) is going to happen anymore often either... Just accept it and get over it. I understand you're driving some Ford Fiesta in Argentina coaching Newell's but no need to transit your inferiority complexes onto the bigger stage.

Take into account the market difference too. Bale's price is inflated by 10mln just based off of that. 60-70mln is an adequate price for him right now. And he won't cost 100mln.

Everyone has to realize that bale is no ronaldo, and considering the case that playing ronaldo as a striker for madrid can cause serious problems which everyone is seeing presently. 2 games without any goals, ronaldo likes to run and defeat opponent team defenders not sit and wait for the ball to come to his feat. so paying 100m for a player that is not needed is completely ridiculous. He is 24 years, an established player not some super f***ing young talent. So, don't compare his signing with neymar. Neymar brings something new to club like variety and depth. Bale not much unless RM sell ronaldo. Tell me how carlo satisfies both ronaldo and bale, then 100m is ok. The fact that ronaldo deserves 90+ and bale does not is ronaldo was best player of that season unlike bale who surprisingly won PFA player of the year without winning a single trophy.

Taking the 2000-2005 period as the unit to measure the appropriate transfer fee (I mean that's when Henry was at his peak) he would probably have fetched a maximum of 30M back then. Let's say he should fetch 10 more consiering the market ddifference and 20 more considering the shit load of oil bandits ruling the roost in football... Real is still paying 40m more!!

I guess 60m euros is ok if ronaldo is staying. They can easily buy a awesome striker and increase depth in defence and can be easily better than RM+Bale. Two same type of players does not work on the pitch.

As you said... that's where Tata made a fool of himself... now if Wenger came out with that it's understandable but not Tata and certainly not in a year where you broke the record for fees paid for players coming straight from South America without a single Champions league game under his belt

Well Neymar was bought before Tata was here... So may be he thinks the same about Neymar's transfer too! Just that, he is not in a position to express that publicly

It's a ridiculous transfer with a ridiculous price. In every way it's a ridiculous situation and although Martino didn't really have to comment in the first place, he's right.
Just because we have money, doesn't mean we have to show it off like some idiots.
Carlo's comment is stupid. However, don't judge the man just based on that. He is very low key, quite likable, respectful (most of the time that is :D ) and is nothing like Mourinho if that's what you're worried about.

As for Bale being just "slightly" overpriced by 10 mill. Lol no. He's around 50 mil. 60 max. 100 is waaaaaaay too much for him. Nowhere near Ronaldo.

Made a fool of himself how? A 43m difference is still a huge one, anyhow. Bale for 60m wouldn't make anyone think the fee was absurd and ridiculous, as it is for 100m.
