He is dead man walking, this is not England we know how coaches end up when they hit the dry spell. Saying he won them La Decima is giving him credit to many. Real showed nothing that match against very tired Atletico that conceded in 93rd minute from corner kick. If anyone won them La Decima its Ramos...

As far as us Cules saying "Why would they fire him?", well last year we played in every competition until last month and we still got rid of the Tata even though he had no saying in transfer window, Messi being injured and whole tax/ban issue that arose. He is gone from Real if they don't win Liga or CL. They play disorganized, they look tired and unmotivated. I don't see them taking anything this year, its downward from this point. Playing entire season with same 11 like Chelsea ought to bring this results in last stretch of season.

Mourinho only won the cup in his first season btw. And they played worse football under him.

Not true. His first season was great, Barca was at their height so winning the cup was great, and we got to the semis. We play even worse now than under Mourinhos last season, which was season were the players spent more energy infighting than on the pitch. We surely wouldnt have won cl last year if we met a peak 2011 Barca.

In my opinion Real Madrid in Mourinho's second year was better than Carlos Real Madrid. They won the league and were quite close to win the UCL.

I really really hope they fire Ancelotti. That would see Real crash out of serious CL contention for at least the next two years.

Hell no.

Real at times last spring and this last fall were a level above anything mourinho had. Especially earlier this season.

Mourinho's 11/12 Madrid were better than Ancelotti's Madrid.

Yep. Back then, Ronaldo actually was more than someone who just scored goals but contributed little elsewhere.

That Madrid were able to win the CL last year was in large part due to Mourinho's core system. He made Marcelo a permanent LB, Ramos the permanent CB and pushed Ronaldo to the left wing position. Before him they all played somewhere else. Also he bought Di Maria and Modric who were vital. Ancelotti gave the team the mental stability they didn't have the season before the Italian took over.

RM were not that convincing last season IMO. They ended as the third best placed team in the league and barely won the Copa del Rey final against a poor FCB team. Had Neymar not hit the post at the end of that game they would likely never have won the trophy. Bartra also gifted them a goal.

Their way to the CL-final was also relatively easy. They won against a piss poor Schalke 04 team in the round of 16 just to met a average and injury ridden Dortmund team in the quarterfinals that they barely defeated overall. Then they met Bayern München in the semifinals and schooled them. IMO their only impressive feat in the CL last season.

Ultimately they played against a injury ridden Atlético team in the final who were without their two most dangerous players (Costa and Arda) and they were 1.5-2 minutes away from losing the game.

The amount of hype that they have received based on their last season is ridiculous.

Of course they were much better than FCB last season but the comparisons with Pep's team etc. were and are misplaced to say the least.

How close were Barca of losing CL in 2009 ?
