Italian sources reporting that he might follow Ronaldo and join Juventus.

He started following Juve on instagram yesterday.

At least Madrid players want to leave when they lose their motivation (or the club just forces them to move more or less), as opposed to slacking off and asking for a raise every half a year like it seems to be the case at Barcelona.

They are crumbling, their little run is coming to an end

yeah but too bad they cashed out near the absolute maximum of their golden generation. could have done better in ligas but 4 CL wins in 4 CL finals is great return.

I still remember when Bayern were hyped to rule the decade with their "2 world class XIs" after the 2013 treble. now that's a missed opportunity

or us after the 2015 treble before a certain transfer ban and a certain brazilian... :neymar:

Devotion to each other as players and their favourite idol-manager rather than the badge. It's actually now becoming clear that Zidane leaving was the necessary step for the club to get real and have many of these guys move on. ZZ gave us the peak Madrid of 2010s, but would also eventually lead us to doom and hurt his legacy in the process.

And as KingLeo10 says, it's important to have an opportunity to cash out on them. Juventus won't get many years out of these guys. Grab the monies while you can.

Ronaldo will be worth it. His shirt sales alone netted them 55M euros, & the season hasn't even started yet.

Real made a mistake by cashing out on him. Even if he is 33 y.o. , he is still one of the best finishers out there.

90% of money from shirt sales goes to their sponsors ( Nike /Adidas ) . Club doesn't get much . It's a myth

Clubs do not earn that much from shirt sales. It is a myth.

I knew that Sherlock, its the market standard for clubs is to get 10-15% of the actual sales.

But Juve's agreement with Adidas works a bit differently,

http://www.calcioefinanza.it/2016/0...ome-funziona-sponsor-licensing-merchandising/

With this contract modifications Juventus gave up receiving a guaranteed additional of 6 millions, with the objective of acquiring more income through direct management of licensing and merchandising. This direct management includes not only a potential increase of income from sales, but also more costs and more investments that the club will have to make.

After doing all the math, they make around 79% of actual sales, so 79% of 52M is around 40-41M. That's a lot of money.

Plus, its not only about money. It was reported Real lost 1M subs and Juve gained 1.4M subs on IG, just after this transfer happened. And add to that the Ronaldo bandwagon fanboys, who follow Ronaldo irrespective of the club.

All in all, IT WAS WORTH IT.
