A prime Kaka or Aimar wouldn’t have performed in this team either. Phil is a fantastic player but the Barca setup doesn’t suit him.
But it’s not like he’s bad suddenly. He’s just been unable to adjust to the system like many thought or hoped. And his price tag doesn’t help matters either.
No doubt that he is one of the very best in the world. But he is a bad fit for us. Its very difficult to fit him into the same team as Messi.

True world class players with excellent footballing intelligence, mentality & technique and decent physique/stamina can excel under any system as long as the manager knows what he is doing.
