But he doesnt play as a winger. He plays as a left forward.

There is not much difference. He still needs to be able to operate in wide areas, though wide forwards do spend more time in half-spaces rather than wingers who touch the byline, but he is not very good at either.

If Valverde and the club believe he's incapable of playing as a CM or AM in a 3-man midfield setup then they should just sell the guy and take the loss.

He will never be a starter as a winger at Barcelona. He's too predictable when he's pushed wider and doesn't have the pace or acceleration like Robben to keep using his one move to get past players and be successful.

Not about being a bad fan or not trusting the player. You either play him in the midfield or move on. He's not, and will never be a winger like Barcelona want their wingers or wide players to play.

Frankly speaking I'm more worried about his mentality right now. The moment he's faced adversity he's gotten progressively worse. While Dembele's faced the same and worse with the press hysteria and used it to motivate himself and gotten better.

Coutinho is not going to go back to England when Liverpool are so good. So the only hope for getting back a lot of money if he doesn't make it here is PSG.

Improved from the Sevilla game. That's not saying he's playing well. If he just plays OK, that should be good enough until Dembele comes back.

He is a very good player, but he isn't a guy who plays LW, he is more suited in the middle or in areas where you don't need pace.

Now that we have signed De Jong, he chances of playing mid look even bleaker. On the other hand, Ousmane Dembele deserves to start on LW, and Messi and Suarez occupy the rest 2 positions.

So where will you play him next season?

The best option to me looks like a luxury super sub, or a very good rotation option. But this isn't something that you pay 160M for.

He's currently not in any condition to bench Dembele permanently once he comes back.

Looks like a Broken man with shades of Gomes like Mental issues.

Maybe so, but he has played literally several hundred games as left forward, for Liverpool, Inter and Espanyol. You can argue that he needs more freedom in the left forward position, but the level he plays for us is totally unacceptable considering the huge fee we paid for him. This guy is the third most expensive transfer in football history. Not only should he be a fixed starter, he should be dominating opposing teams every week.

If he is struggling here he will cut his loss and accept that move, just like Cesc done before.
He won't risk his career because of Liverpool status

Don't wanna hate on him but this is looking more and more like a poorly planned signing. He's looking like a luxury player who needs others to carry him and drops his shoulders when things are not going well for him. Cesc/Ozil 2.0 vibes.

-->Never ever play him on the wing again. Even when starters are injured play Malcom or even Dennis over him

-->If he can't play in the MF (which is more and more likely with arrival of De Jong and possibly Rabiot), just take the L and flog him off to rich EPL teams/PSG in the summer

-->If an offer of say 80m plus comes take it and run.

80mil is too much of a loss imo.. thats half his fee. 100mil would be fair given the market and if FFP don't fuck PSG they would probably pay that. Ozil vibes are very accurate and worrying, he doesn't seem to have any drive in him to prove himself

cant believe we paid 160mil, potentially the biggest flop of all time if we do cash in this summer
