I've always seen him as a left sided forward. He's too good a finisher to be wasted playing deep.

Yeah he's dangerous when he's closer to the goal but for me I think a more balanced approach for him is in a 4-3-3 is to play him as the most advanced midfielder where he would help start plays and it wouldn't completely diminish his long shots and finishing.

On paper the idea looks great. But in order to really get it to work is we need a better CM than someone like Rakitic. We need someone who is not only more mobile than he is but someone who is stronger on the ball and can retain the ball and circulate it as well along with some creativity.

Someone like Thiago would work well with Coutinho I bet. There's also Arthur but there's still a question mark on him if he can come here and adapt to european football and prove that he is good enough long term for us.

Isco has been more clutch than Coutinho for both club and country.

Coutinho is better. And has end product which Isco doesn't have that much. Both are skilled dribblers. This is the first big tournament in which Isco is playing for Spain btw. So not sure how he was clutch for Spain.

I'm hoping for great things from Coutinho over the coming weeks . With all the big names somewhat faltering he could quite easily be THE star of the WC ..

Well Messi , MBappe , Dembele , Pogba and Eriksen all flopped so there's no reason why Neymar won't , given he will be targeted as usual

Geez, Ronaldo sees nowhere near the amount of attention from the opposition that Neymar and Messi does. He is not skilful enough to warrant that type of attention. When Portugal played Iceland in the Euroís they went as far as not even marking him. True story.

Ronaldo scores a hatrick and now he is the next best thing to sliced bread. His performance was outstanding but it certainly doesnít warrant the attention itís been getting with comparisons to Maradona vs England in 1986.

Yeah, nice way to have a conversation.

He is striker, he is not a creator, sees waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy less of the ball than Messi and Neymar. Why would they mark him in numbers?

Ronaldo doesnt receive less attention and Iceland played exactly same way yesterday as did v Portugal and as they do against every team.

The difference is what Ronaldo does is more difficult to stop with 3/4 men as it is more about movement.

Absolutely fuck all to do with him being less a threat it is the type of threat he is.

Isco is not more clutch than Coutinho ffs and that is up there with the claim from MessiCam that Denis is as good a midfielder as Coutinho....
