that's the same excuse everybody uses when describing madrid.
lose la liga - "oh they don't give a shit about la liga. they only care about CL"
lose in the cup - "oh they don't give a shit about copa del rey. they only care about CL"
i'm beginning to think they were "ronaldo fc" all this time. he truly cared first about CL so that he gets global recognition and ballon d'ors. in the last years he didn't bother to play from september to january.
why is everybody so sure? zidane didn't prove himself as a team builder yet. sure, they'll get hungry quality players but we'll have to say how well they gel together.

It's naturally a bit of both. Not as far as Ronaldo FC, but dude was the only stone-cold self-motivated man who was annoyed about every game he lost, every missed opportunity and every time somebody didn't pass him the ball in a goalscoring opportunity.
This is all on Zidane now TBH. We know these players can do their own jobs and while one or two qualities have gone missing (finishing + composure when you need to fight back from 0-1 or 0-2 down), they are still the same guys that need a few new faces to refresh their game.
And no - Spanish youth haven't failed. In fact, most of them played very well indeed when there was still something at stake.
This is all on Zidane now TBH. We know these players can do their own jobs and while one or two qualities have gone missing (finishing + composure when you need to fight back from 0-1 or 0-2 down), they are still the same guys that need a few new faces to refresh their game.

I said they don't care about some useless games in La liga when we already won it 2 weeks ago.

Yes Ronaldo was very clutch for Real Madrid and he helped them win games and titles but let’s be honest, their dependence on Ronaldo was not even a third of our dependence on Messi who truly carried us in every way, not just by scoring goals.
At this point Real Madrid doesn’t care anymore, season is already over, they are just testing out formations and tactics and preparing for next season. They will get reinforced for sure while De Jong could be our only signing. Perhaps Griezmann.
Valverde was bailed out by Messi and was twice helped by an underwhelming Real Madrid side that sucked so much, he might not be that lucky again next season.

The meltdown is Real, and the Bale saga continues. If he doesn't get sold quickly, I think it can do damage well into the preparations and startup of next season..

Nothing suggest that De Jong would be the only one. Maybe both Griezmann, De Ligt AND one more according to local media - like Rodrigo. I won't judge our standing towards Real before the summer is over, and I think people underestimate the chances that Valverde can be gone too. The board won't say "yes, we fire him after the cup final", that would be so unbelievably stupid. Let's see what happens after that cup final..
