Real Madrid

Lopetegui just said that Ronaldo is the best player in the world

I have no idea how they don't understand how ridiculous and embarassing they sound when they force people who said previously that Messi is the best in the world to say that as soon as Madrid hires them.

Even funnier because the Messi quote he only said in May. It’s not like some old quote they’ve dug up.

No we all thought he was being serious..... thanks for clarifying.

You sure as hell take it seriously talking about integrity or chopping ones balls off and shit. LOL. Nobody at the high end of Apple would ever say anything Microsoft produces is better than theirs. Normal shiz. Grow up lads.

What you should actually be paying attention to is dude's genuine sadness. He cared about his NT work. Needless drama.

If he cared, he wouldn't sign the contract before the WC.

That old saying... “some things are better left unsaid”

The fact he already said Messi is the best of all time is the whole point of it. If he hadn’t said that there’d be no problem, even if we doubted his real opinion.

Like you said it’s a PR stunt, probably Perez has heard about what he’s said about Messi and told him to say Ronaldo is the best to end it. But that ends up being funnier

He fucked up and they had to let him go after that.

If he feels bad now or not it is not really all that relevant.

Exactly. He messed up a once in a lifetime oportunity to coach your national team at the world cup.
If he just said that he'll be leaving after the WC and signed the contract with Real after the WC, he would still have the job.

These are just consequences of things he did. If he cries over them or not is irrelevant.

Crying on the stage just shows that he lacks character to lead Real Madrid IMO. If he doesn't succeed he's going to regret this for the rest of his career because he won't get another top club coaching job again or be let back in the Spanish NT setup.

He couldn't sign the contract after WC. Should get this into your head by now.

No, he didn't have to be let go. But I know better than to argue with you in a 50 post shootout. Reasonable people on both sides of the argument agree firing was needless.

The sole fact that he takes the Madrid job shows he has character, because he knows the stakes. Do or die. He could as well have failed throughout his NT career and be perenially stuck coaching Championship level teams.

He did have to be let go. Destroys trust in squad when a clique of players in on the secret that you will be their manager next season and that starts to filter out.

Made his own bed and has to lie in it.

Tears or not no sympathy for him. Caused the situation himself.

Not letting the RFEF know was the worst thing he could do. Had to go. Probaby not the best call for their chances in Russia.

No feelings for him.

Can't destroy something that's not there in the first place. They're not family, they're professionals, rivals, people of interest, constantly Facebooking and Whatsapping each other and their friends. Cannot possibly predict who will see extrinsic value in going public with it. Everyone knows large groups can't be trusted with such things. Nor did the rest have any need to know in the slightest, doesn't change anything for their goals at the tournament and what happens beyond it is always up in the air. You can be mad about parents keeping secrets from you, whatever. Such is the reality of the situation.
